Job Description NBC Sports is seeking a highly skilled and electrical licensed Facility Electrician to join the Operations team at the Stamford, CT headquarters. This position is critical to maintaining the 24/7 reliability of our state-of-the-art broadcast and production facilities. The Facility Electrician is responsible for conducting building maintenance, planning, inspection and functions of the facility and its MEP systems. The position is part of a team that manages multiple buildings within the Stamford and Monroe Campuses and will have responsibilities in building field inspection, construction or design. The Facility Electrician will use their Connecticut electrical license to perform high-level preventative and corrective electrical maintenance, while also serving as a general facility engineer responsible for HVAC, plumbing, and general building upkeep. This role will begin on a day shift schedule for the first six months before transitioning to the 2nd shift (typically 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM). Shift times are subject to change and may require overtime to support live broadcast schedules. This position will be primarily based in Stamford, CT, with a need to be onsite at our Monroe, CT facility as needed. Responsibilities: Primary Electrical Maintenance • Responds to service calls for repairing or installing various power, lighting, and HVAC needs in office spaces, broadcast studios, control rooms, and mission-critical data centers. • Monitors and maintains electrical power distribution systems. • Conducts preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on Emergency Generator plants and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. Building Systems Operations (BMS/HVAC) • Utilizes the Johnson Controls Metasys Building Management System (BMS) to monitor the condition of systems, troubleshoot issues, and make environmental adjustments as needed. • Monitors and performs minor preventative maintenance (PM) on HVAC systems including: boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, RTUs (Rooftop Units), and split systems. • Monitors Water-Cooled Chillers, Cooling Towers, and chilled water distribution. General Facility Support • Addresses basic plumbing issues, leaks, and fixture repairs as required. • Performs aesthetic maintenance, including light carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and door hardware issues. Administration & Compliance • Maintains accurate and timely maintenance logs, ensuring all PM is completed on schedule. • Conducts various weekly and monthly Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) inspections. • Supports after-hours and weekend tasks on an overtime basis to ensure 24/7 operational readiness for broadcast demands. Qualifications Basic Requirements: • Connecticut State Unlimited Electrical License (E-1 or E-2) is required. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of the systems and equipment listed above, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems. • Proven ability to meet strict time frames and deliver high-quality work in environments with zero tolerance for failure (i.e., live broadcast/mission-critical facilities). • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at multiple organizational levels. • Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office applications. MUST BE CT LICENSED ELECTRICIAN!!! Maintains, installs, and troubleshoots all aspects of electrical infrastructure. Operates, inspects, and maintains all electrical equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Assures that equipment is being maintained in an energy efficient, safe manner and down time is reduced to a minimum by anticipation of necessary repairs and keeping records of past operating experiences. What is your day to day? Demonstrate knowledge of electrical / instrumentation / control building equipment and systems required to operate and maintain electrical equipment and systems. Plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical apparatus, control equipment and wiring used in industrial light and power distribution systems including equipment such as generating equipment, panels, automatic switches, variable frequency drives, complex circuit breaking units, transformer units, and alarms. Troubleshoot and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties in motors, and other equipment. Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade and install all electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings. Interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completion of assignments in a safe, environmentally compliant manner. Safely use a large variety of hand and shop power tools. Complete all documentation by required deadlines. Document accurately and clearly in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in real time. Perform all incidental /associated work required to complete the job assignment. Work with minimal supervision and proactively communicate with manager. Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient, and clean operating condition. Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required. Desired experience and technical skills CT Electrician License is required High school diploma or state equivalent required A minimum of 4 years of electrical trade school or training equivalent, with 5+ years of electrical work experience. Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes. Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
