Central Hudson is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the Electric Substation Design team. Engineering Technician’s perform engineering related assignments that support the Substation Design Team in planning, evaluating, designing, obtaining material procurement, and construction of electric substations and associated facilities. What does an Engineering Technician – Electric Substation Design do? • Becomes proficient in the use of Central Hudson’s project management software, Portfolio Manager, and is the system administrator for the software • Updates the capital project work plan spreadsheets • Develops and updates individual project plans and project estimates • Issues specifications and RFQ’s for material procurements for capital projects • Creates bills of materials and construction package transmittals for capital projects • Conducts field inspections of capital projects during construction • Tracks the Work Breakdown Structure (Plan versus Actual) for Capital Projects • Attends Monthly Project Meetings, takes meeting minutes, and tracks follow-up items • Updates Monthly Project Status Reports for Major Projects • Reviews “As Built” Drawings for completed projects • Tracks and updates pro-forma estimates as each project is completed • Performs project close-out and filing • Maintains vendor data sheets • Supports storm/emergency restoration efforts What does it take to be an Engineering Technician – Electric Substation Design? • Associate’s degree in a STEM related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) In lieu of an Associate’s degree, 10 years of electric utility/distribution system experience and industry-specific certifications/credentials will be considered • Aptitude for mechanical analysis and demonstrated proficiency in math skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new computer software program • Ability to multitask with an attention to detail • Excellent problem-solving skills, with innovation in mind • Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, staff and management • A valid driver’s license is required. Commercial Electrical Estimator and Service Lead

Job Summary: The Electrical Estimator/Service Manager is responsible for preparing Commercial Project bids and coordinating Residential electrical work. Key Responsibilities: 1) Maintain and develop a thorough understanding of the provisions and requirements of all project scope of work. a) Contract documents b) Plans c) Specifications d) Owner's contract e) Subcontracts f) Purchase orders g) Change orders 2) Co-Develop project schedule and direct its long-term planning and execution. a) Communicate/coordinate schedule & plan with contractors and vendors. b) Maintained strict control of the project budget for each work activity. “Job Costing” c) Prepare and review estimates and change orders. d) Coordinate monthly with the General Manager on the progress and profitability of the project. e) Review and approve sub-contractor and vendor bids/quotes f) AIA invoices and change requests. g) Prepare and negotiate contracts and changes with contractors and vendors and monitor performance with foreman to ensure schedules and objectives are met. h) Review project progress meetings minutes and maintain logs. 3) Manage Residential Service Department a. Preferred Qualifications: • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar. • Experience with EBM, Excel, Word, Outlook. • Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. • Occasional site visits may require standing, walking, and navigating through construction sites.
