Industrial Maintenance Technician Facility: Trenton Plants General Description The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs the necessary duties for machine maintenance and troubleshooting electrical systems. Specific Duties Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries. Participate in developing and updating risk assessments and review all applicable risk assessments annually. Install fixtures, motors, and other electrical equipment as necessary. Troubleshoot machine controls, motors, equipment, and associated wiring. Repair lighting and power circuitry, and associated equipment. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment. Inventory and order electrical material for shop stock. Order proper materials for job completion. Tag out and lockout procedures. Complete required records for work performed. Perform planned maintenance inspections, as required. Maintain equipment to ensure maximum reliability. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and repair all process and plant equipment, as necessary. Ability to read electrical schematics. Must have a valid drivers license. High School Diploma or GED with technical or trade courses required. Knowledge of State and Local electrical codes. Knowledge of hydraulic systems a plus. Complete tasks with minimal supervision. Basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to use hand and shop tools. Proven mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Mechanical experience in either manufacturing or related areas. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality, required. Steam boiler operation experience, desirable. Personal Protective Equipment Safety Glasses conforming to: ANSI Z87.1 or higher (required to enter mfg. area) Safety Shoes conforming to: ASTM F2413-05 PT Class 75 Protective Toe Electrically Insulated Gloves for general protection (as needed). Maintenance Electrician - Machine Repair

BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS Journeyman’s papers or equivalent degree or Electrical license with 3 years of experience performing complex electrical work in industrial maintenance. Must evidence ability in performing complex electrical work in industrial maintenance. Primary Responsibilities: Performs any combination of (but not limited to) the following duties according to specific department guidelines: · Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs. · Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock. · Experience in reading and troubleshooting from blueprints & schematics with system voltages 240 and 480 three-phase systems. · Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment. · Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work. · Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring. · Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to such as multi-meters, ammeters, megohm meters, high potential testers, oscilloscopes, digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment. · Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades. · Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels. · Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives. · Install and maintain (point to point wiring, equipment replacement) programmable logic control systems (PLC). · Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls. · Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications. · Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams if required. · Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, panels and small mechanical devices such as motors. · Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. · Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. · Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems. · Participate in the on-the-job training of line mechanics and apprentices as needed. · Use computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information. · Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others. · Perform other duties as required.
