Facilities Operations Supervisor (Electrical)

About the position Responsibilities • Plans, supervises, schedules, and assigns work to various skilled tradesmen and sub-journey-level employees performing building and repair maintenance work. • Evaluates, prioritizes, and assigns installation, repair, and maintenance work orders through the TMA work order system. • Maintains work order status and closes work orders when tasks are completed. • Performs and ensures all assignments are completed in compliance with trade methods, quality and efficiency standards, manufacturing guidelines, regulations, codes, and project objectives. • Responsible for and participates in the repair and replacement of electrical motors, controllers, switchboard panels, lights, power circuits, and electrical generators. • Performs skilled tasks per standard practices of the electrical trade and the National Electrical Code. • Makes estimates of time and material, layouts, plans, and schedules work for the electricians and Maintenance Repairmen. • Investigates accidents and incidents, initiates appropriate action for treatment, as needed, and prepares written reports. • Provides training and on-the-job guidance and assistance on the proper methods, techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions to be observed by subordinate staff. • Prepares ordering documents for electrical supplies and equipment needed for campus electrical projects and repairs. • Complies with hazard and safety precautions of the electrical trade, works with high voltage, and ensures subordinates follow proper safety precautions. Requirements • Five years of experience at the journey level divided among a minimum of two of the building, electrical, or telephone, data trades at the supervisory level. • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. • Expertise information of the standard practices, processes, equipment, tools, and materials involved in trades related to electrical trade and general building maintenance. • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of building maintenance and new construction or renovation work. • Ability to use, maintain, and care for the tools and equipment employed in building maintenance and repair work. • Thorough working knowledge of National Electric Code. • Proficient execution to plan, assign, train, supervise, and evaluate the work of a varied group of skilled and semi-skilled workers. • Ability to make and work from sketches or plans for improvement or alteration of buildings and equipment and to interpret blueprints and sketches. • Experience accurately estimating the time and materials required for repair and maintenance work. • Must have a valid driver's license. • Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions. • Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required. Distribution Engineer, Electrical Utility

Description Leidos is seeking an experienced Distribution Engineering lead for electric distribution design engineering in Pennsylvania. As a Lead Distribution Engineer, You can expect to: • Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis; Work may include Make Ready projects and/or capital/ reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs) • Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projects • Review engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program work • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities • Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. • Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applications • Be comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages; Candidates should posess a valid US Driver's license What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements): • 4+ years of relevant experience working electric distribution projects in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution; Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific bachelor's degree • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) • Experience with engineering design quality control • Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis • Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates) • Willingness to perform both field and office work; Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion; The role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages • Candidates should possess valid U.S. driver's license Preferred Qualifications: • Previous QAQC experience • Experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC • Demonstrated history of Customer Interaction • Proven experience and proficiency with Make Ready projects for electric utilties • Prior Leadership experience is preferred Professional Attributes that will help you succeed in this role: • Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills and supporting of customer advocacy • Collaborative and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations • Positive attitude • Ability to work with limited supervision • Professional dress and demeanor • Attention to detail & Highly organized • Excellent time management At Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
