Position Description Summary/Purpose : This position is responsible for performing electrical assessments, maintenance, and construction across University, Magnet School, commercial, and residential properties. Collaborates with internal departments and external subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical operations. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.) • Conducts diagnostics and repairs on industrial, commercial, and residential electrical systems • Installs and maintains fire alarms, motor controls, internet cabling, surveillance systems, and door access equipment • Performs low-voltage wiring tasks, including patching and routing • Provides on-demand electrical services and emergency response support • Reviews electrical blueprints and implements system upgrades or modifications • Procures materials and supplies to support ongoing projects and maintenance • Adheres to National Electrical Code standards and promotes a culture of safety through regular briefings and compliance checks Other Functions : • Assists with general maintenance tasks such as relocating furniture, painting, and equipment setup • Supports cross-functional teams and contributes to collaborative problem-solving • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and technologies • Performs related duties as assigned to meet evolving operational needs Knowledge, Ability and Skill : • Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently • Familiarity with construction, plumbing, and HVAC systems • Effective communicator with experience working across departments Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications : Education, Training and Experience : High school diploma or GED with ten years of relevant experience in electrical and/or building maintenance.
