Electrical Technician

Description: Job Summary: The Electrical Technician will repair, maintain, and facilitate installation of industrial machines used in manufacturing and production operations with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, and electrical equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical equipment. • Inspect, dismantle, and reassemble mechanical and electrical production equipment. • Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, verbal instruction, schematics, operating or repair manuals, blueprints, or layout plans. • Communicate daily with associates to assist and learn problem solutions for associated production equipment. • Make maintenance decisions based on production priorities and available resources. • Maintain working knowledge of spare parts and their locations to maximize productivity. • Ensures proper operation of manufacturing machines and industrial equipment. • Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints. • Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise. • Performs preventive maintenance makes repairs on older machines. • Provides advice and recommendations to management concerning new machinery. • Plans and facilitates installation of new or refurbished machinery, which may include building platforms and foundations. • Conducts safety inspections of facilities. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Experience/Education: 3-5 years in a similar role coupled with a technical degree from an accredited technical school or university Job Requirements: • Must be able to operate electrical/electronic test equipment • Must have a working knowledge of electrical drives, be able to use manuals for troubleshooting purposes • Must have the ability to complete electrical projects, modifications, and repairs to the highest standards • Must be able to troubleshoot to determine need for replacing PLC parts, replace PLC processors, install/maintain PLC hardware • Must be able to install/maintain/troubleshoot servo motors, AC motors, and DC motors. • Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC circuits on multiple types of machinery and equipment including but, not limited to breaking down schematics or engineering prints. • Machine installation, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical knowledge and experience • NFPA 70E and National Electrical Code highly recommending for position • Excellent verbal and written communication • Pneumatic and Hydraulic system knowledge preferred • HVAC certified or knowledge preferred • Press Repair and Die Monitoring system knowledge preferred Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery. • Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.
