Participation in troubleshooting, process improvement, new equipment installation and documentation of electrical infrastructure and process equipment. Key Responsibilities • Troubleshoot infrastructure equipment, systems and processes when required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply. • Supports electrical capital equipment projects including specification, design input, testing, installation, and commissioning. • Works with Quality and Engineering to document repairs/changes made to equipment and/or electrical infrastructure. • Assume leadership of the electrical preventive maintenance requirements. • Work closely with union trades, subcontractors and across all levels and organizations. Experiences/Education - Required • Associate degree in electrical/electronic, instrumentation or process controls with 5+ years experience. • Proficient in the use of electrical test meters, PC’s and/or schematics to troubleshoot electrical equipment/infrastructure. • Proficient with MS Office applications. Experiences/Education - Desired • Building Management system operation experience • Experience with medium voltage, low voltage, PLC’s, controls and communication protocols. • Experience with UPS and Generator backed systems. This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $71,370.00 - $98,135.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The following information is relative to Production and Maintenance employment at Corning Incorporated in the Corning, New York Valley: The employment process for all Production and Maintenance positions at Corning Incorporated in the Corning Valley begins once you attach your resume and submit a completed application. The next step in the process will be an orientation at a local venue to be determined. The orientation will be followed by a series of tests and interviews conducted by Corning Incorporated employees. Upon successful completion of all of the above, the next step will be background checks and a medical exam, to include a physical assessment and a drug test. Qualified candidates are included in a pool for Maintenance Associate - Electrical positions and will be called upon as openings occur in our businesses. Corning Incorporated interviews applicants for self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills. JOB INFORMATION – Physical Requirements – Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds on a regular basis throughout the day. Skills - Basic Demonstration of Skills is required. Transportation – Must supply own transportation; plants are as far as 15 miles apart. Work Hours – Varies by plant; probably will be rotating shifts on a weekly basis. Working holidays and weekends are a must. Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period. Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1000. Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to electrical and mechanical maintenance work such as installation, fabrication, assembly, set up, diagnosis, troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, services and facilities requiring the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills. Works from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions. Primary Responsibilities: • Performs work on energized lines, circuits and connections with a wide range of voltages including 110V, 220V, and 440V. May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution transformers. As necessary, make hot cutovers. • Operates a wide variety of equipment such as: various saws, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, meters, feelers, voltmeters, o-scopes, other electrical diagnostic equipment, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc. • Provide cross-training for other skills. • May be a member of a work group (team) that utilizes some business skills such as: writing, entering work orders, time distribution, quotes and estimates, use of computers in performance of duties, etc. • Effort equivalent to handling 16-50 lbs., works overhead in tiring awkward positions, runs conduit, performs benchwork repairing instruments and motor. Align belts, erects partitions, etc. infrequently handles 51-80 lbs. Repairs machinery involving heavy component parts. • Visual effort-newsprint level of eye use over 25% of shift, repairs instruments, circuits on boards and calibrating, troubleshoot, fabrication, assembly and installation of electronic equipment, instrument, and gages. Reads blueprints, views set-ups on high-speed machines. • Knowledge of a wide variety of materials, applications, processes, facilities and equipment; all phases of electrical and electronics, knowledge of higher math computations and interpretation of blueprints, diagrams, and manuals. • Sustained attention to prevent losses such as materials or process control; switch gear or relay boxes, lengths of pipes, various metals, woods, etc. • Intermittent to continuous exposure to very disagreeable conditions of heat, noise, glare, fumes, burners and machines. Qualifications: • Holds a GED or High School diploma • Experience in a 24/7 union manufacturing environment is desirable • Experience with vendor management and capital project finances • Highly organized and capable of operating in a demanding environment • Requires strong leadership skills while working with peers at all levels • Must be highly motivated and results oriented • Ability to be a change agent in a fast-paced organization • Must be results focused with a commitment and desire to make an impact • Ability to work rotating shifts • Union experience highly desired No Recruiter please!
