Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

What will I do? • Repair and troubleshoot production equipment in our facilities, for both emergency and non-emergency situations • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment • Work effectively with a team, assisting other personnel as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed safely and in a timely manner • Keep open lines of communication with team members and supervisors • Complete all tasks while strictly adhering to food and human safety guidelines • Maintain Wegmans’ high standards of quality at all times Required Qualifications: • 3 or more years of experience as an equipment Mechanic in a manufacturing or distribution environment, including experience with preventative maintenance systems and techniques • Proficiency with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of material handling systems and process equipment, including conveyors and/or automated systems • Knowledge of three-phase motors and wiring and experience programming and installing electronics and controls At Wegmans, we’ve long believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people. Manufacturing Electrician

JOB SUMMARY The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of all electrical systems within the brewery. STATUS: Full Time SHIFT: Off-shift (afternoons/overnights); weekends and OT as needed JOB TYPE: Union LOCATION: Rochester, NY DEPARTMENT: Maintenance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure the safety of all electrical systems within the brewery • Brewery-wide electrical support for all areas • Work on AC and DC, single and multiple phase circuits • Work in coordination with engineers and other technicians when working with devices and circuits • Perform cabling work for electronic equipment, computers, and telecommunications equipment • Repair or replace wires, cables or other fixtures using hand tools or electronic tools • Connect wires to transformers and other components • Plan and generate the layout of electrical installations and wiring • Possesses and utilizes working knowledge of our single line diagram and physical locations of sub-stations • Installation, removal, repair, and adjustment of pneumatic and electrical instruments/actuators • Observes automation in operation and troubleshoot to locate root cause of trouble • Install, service, and maintain power circuits; including synchronization of their operation • Initiate purchase orders for required parts • Support predictive and preventative maintenance initiatives • Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment • Other duties as assigned EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; Electrical Maintenance & Construction; or related field - preferred • 5+ years of industrial electrician experience • Will consider an Electrical Apprentice program OTHER ATTRIBUTES • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge and experience with industrial electrical and controls systems • Ability to troubleshoot, program, and debug AB & Siemens PLCs, HMIs, relay-based circuits and networking • Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and program VFDs • Ability to work independently • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor settings as well as within manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS • Must be able to frequently walk, climb stairs/ladders, kneel in place, as well as crawl, stand, walk, and crouch under conveyors • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must be able to work indoors in a factory, outdoors on property, bench work in a maintenance shop, in noisy and humid temperatures as well as in cool, damp cellars. • Must be able to work in confined spaces PERKS • Generous Benefits with options to fit your life • Blue4U Discounts • Retirement Options with employer contributions • 10 paid holidays per year • Gainsharing Bonuses • Union Support • Tools and tool replacement options • Culture of pride and community involvement • And of course, beer!
