Lead Electrician – Full Time Company: Ardent Electric Location: Erie, PA Employment Type: Full-Time (W-2) Ardent Electric is looking for a Lead Electrician to join our growing team in Erie, PA. This is a full-time role for a motivated, technically gifted electrician who thrives on solving problems independently and delivering clean, code-compliant work. What You’ll Do • Lead and execute residential and light commercial projects • Perform Service calls (troubleshooting), service upgrades, panel work, rewires, generator installations, and new construction wiring • Work independently or with other leads, with a helper, or lead a small crew on-site • Ensure all work meets NEC and local codes Who We’re Looking For • At least 2+ years of field experience in electrical work • Electrical Education or Equivalent • Technically gifted — someone who can diagnose and solve problems without hand-holding • Strong understanding of the NEC • Good general knowledge of other trades and systems (HVAC, plumbing, framing, etc.) • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in our manufacturing facility. Your work will directly impact the safety and efficiency of our operations, making attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols critical to success in this role. You will work closely with other members of our electrical team to ensure that all electrical systems are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications: • 3-5 years in electrical trade (industrial preferred) • Have an understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams • Ability to work from sketches, drawings and verbal instructions • Ability to work with multiple departments • Ability to understand simple math functions including decimals and fractions • Ability to climb repeatedly and work from heights off ladders, platforms. scaffolds and aerial lifts • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installing equipment, including wiring, and conduit • Exposure to fumes/smoke from burning, paint vapors and dust • Prolonged walking/standing, sometimes on slippery or uneven surfaces • Moderate to heavy lifting • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Responsibilities and Skills: • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and National Electrical Codes • Perform regular inspections of electrical systems, identifying and addressing any issues or potential hazards • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including materials used and time spent • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner • Utilize digital multi-meters, insulation resistance meter (megger), current transformers, relevant hand tools, and rigid pipe benders and threaders • Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and OSHA Regulations • Perform electrical testing, trouble shooting, and repairs on vessels that service the Great Lakes • Electrical system installations onboard new construction vessels • Electricians may be involved in construction or maintenance, usually work a 40-hour week, 5 day week plus overtime when required • Must be able to work any shift Benefits: • Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance • Paid Time Off - Including vacation, personal time and holidays • Retirement 401K Plan - Including employer matching • Profit Sharing Plan
