Sr. Electrical/Controls Engineer

Description Position Summary: This position will be part of the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activity and support for Inverter programs. The purpose for the position will be to support activities to establish equipment, processes, and quotations for programs related to Inverter products. Overall requirements of the position are to ensure that production equipment runs to equipment specification and produces products based on the product specifications and customer requirement, including ensuring that equipment is verified and qualified for mass production utilization. The specific area of expertise will be providing electrical controls engineering support to INV manufacturing equipment. This Position Offers Opportunities To Work With a Wide Variety Of Aspects Of The Manufacturing Processes, a Wide Variety Of Departments And Levels Of Management Within The Company Both Domestic And International. Essential Functions Of This Job Include • Ensure equipment specifications to produce products and align with regional requirements. • Confirm that equipment is installed and meets required specification. • Ensure that equipment is safe to utilize for all associates. • Confirm that all product requirements are met through online testing, including the verification (daily and validation) • Assist other departments in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles, including countermeasure activity as needed. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills) • 4year University Degree in related technical field or equivalent experience and education. • Candidate must already have work authorization to work in the United States. • Engineering skills including knowledge of control systems, robotics, mechanics, pneumatics, optical inspection and computer programming. • Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills. • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. • Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems. • Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness. Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills) • 4year university degree in electrical engineering or related field and 5 years related work experience. • Work experience within automotive industry, with emphasis in equipment programming (robots (Fanuc, IAI), PLC (AB, Keyence), vision, screw driving, material dispensing. • Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc. • Experience in electronics manufacturing • Well organized, attention to detail and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. • Excellent communication skills to prepare and present information to all levels of associates, management and customers both verbally and written • Ability to lead projects obtaining the support of multiple departments and organizations Essential To Job Functions – Physical And/or Mental Restrictions • Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen • Ability to travel for business (Domestic and Overseas) Software • Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel • Project Management Software preferred (MS Project) • Experience in CAD ware (AutoCad, or other) Description Of Duties And Responsibilities % of Time Spent performing Duties • Evaluate new Inverter product, processes, and equipment. (40%) • Support development of technology, resource and production requirements.(30%) • Support new business opportunity evaluation (20%) • Support M/P equipment problems and develop solutions (5%) • Other Duties as Assigned to support Corporate Objectives (5%) Skills And Abilities • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment and maintain high level of motivation • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization • Confers with and prepares reports for corporate management • Maintain functional knowledge of processes, procedures and equipment within manufacturing Work Environment – Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc. • Requires 25% travel – Domestic and International (may include short term assignment in foreign country) • Open-Office Setting • Factory Setting with Noise
