Title: Hydro Operator Electrician III Position Type: Direct Hire Location: Manchester, NH Reports to: Working Foreman Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary The Hydro Operator Electrician III will work across multiple power plants in the New Hampshire region installing, testing, and troubleshooting medium voltage (34.5kV and below) and station service electrical equipment such as motors, and motor controls, switchgear, transformers, voltage regulators, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, lighting power supplies, electrical cranes, and battery support systems. The Hydro Operator Electrician III will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and managing overhauls for such equipment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Installs, assesses, maintains, troubleshoots, and overhauls medium voltage power plant generation and auxiliary electrical equipment. • Gains technical information from electrical schematics, vendors information, and codes. • Performs current, voltage and power calculations, as necessary. • Working with the power plant instrumentation and controls (I&C) equipment to calibrate plant related instrumentation and use test equipment associated with the power plant. • Initiate reports and records associated with the electrical systems of the plant. • Document all work and reports, as necessary. • Conduct plant daily/weekly plant rounds. • Assisted with flashboard maintenance, as necessary. • Will support operations and maintenance activities as needed. • Coordinate with plant staff in the coordination of all maintenance activities. • Evaluate equipment failures and for methods of procedures to prevent reoccurrence. • Balance of plant operations determined by supervisor. Job Requirements • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as DMM, meggers, and multi process calibration equipment. • Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques. • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft office suite, maintenance data systems such as Fiix or IFS. • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. • Must be able to travel with the state of New Hampshire as assigned. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. • Strong attention to detail. • Safety driven. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, or smell. • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
