This includes identifying potential electrical hazards and recommending corrective actions to ensure the safe operation of electrical systems. The Resort Journeyman Electrician works directly with the Senior/Master Electrician to prevent and solve electrical issues. This is a full-time year-round benefit eligible position. The pay range for this role is $30-$35/hr based upon experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Respond to work orders as they come in through the maintenance system • Work on preventive maintenance tasks • Troubleshoot electrical systems • Provide corrective action plans to resolve issues • Support snowmaking operation by offering preventative maintenance in the pump houses and with any associated snowmaking equipment • Respond to after hour's maintenance calls as needed • Make critical decisions in a timely manner that will have as little impact on the guest experience as possible • Make phone calls to management in a timely manner to minimize down time • Follow all safety policies and wear all prescribed PPE EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Education: High School Diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma • Preferred Education: Technical Diploma, Associate Degree or two years college course work • Vermont State electrical apprenticeship certificate • Must possess a valid Vermont State Journeymen Electricians license or be able to obtain licensure within one year from date of hire • Work Experience: Two to four years job related experience . QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS • Know and understand the National Electrical Code (NEC) • Must be able to work with team members or independently • Must be a team player • Experience with Microsoft word and excel • Must be able to read and intemperate blueprints and schematics • Must have an understanding of electrical symbols and ladder logic • Experience with PLC's preferred but not required • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS • Minimal travel required PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays Mountain Environment: • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc... • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common. • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment. • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting.
