SUMMARY The Electrician’s position is to troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and maintain all plant electrical, instrumentation, and electronic equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Experience working with 480VAC, 3 Phase electricity in an industrial environment • Installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, VFD’s, PLC’s heating units, conduit systems, and other electrical equipment and components. • repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective wiring, etc. • Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers, servos, gears, sprockets chains, etc. using test equipment. • Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the plant (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers) • Inspects and performs daily maintenance on all plant machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC Systems, PLC networks. • Writing basic PLC programs, setting up HMIs, maintaining automation records. • Operates mobile equipment to transfer product/material as needed while following all safety rules and regulations. • Maintain housekeeping and sanitation of work area and equipment. • Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures, complete record of inspections as required. • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus and replaces damaged wires and cables. • Connects power supply wires to and between machines and equipment. • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices Comply with safety standards and procedures. • Works closely with Operations to ensure that the plant runs efficiently. JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • 4+ years of electrical troubleshooting and repair or similar experience. • Plant Manufacturing Journeyman or General Journeyman license. • Fluent understanding of 3-phase power supply, feeders, and current limiting devices. • Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations. • Experience working with electrical motors, relays, switches, sensors, and lighting fixtures. • Knowledge and navigation of NEC codes. • PLC and instrumentation experience is a plus. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events. • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level that allows for the safe and accurate performance of job duties. • Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays to service emergency needs.
