We’re seeking a Licensed Electrical Journeyman with strong experience in installing and repairing electrical systems on commercial construction sites. The ideal candidate is skilled in reading blueprints, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, and delivering high-quality work—especially on high-security or complex commercial projects. Duties & Responsibilities: • Transport and maintain essential tools, materials, and equipment required for commercial electrical work. • Travel to and between designated commercial job sites as needed. • Perform site inspections, evaluate project requirements, and determine appropriate courses of action within project constraints. • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, and related components. • Set up and service commercial-grade electrical machinery and systems. • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure materials are available for daily operations. • Accurately log hours worked and materials used to support project cost tracking. • Adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety standards and protocols. • Provide timely, professional, and respectful service on active construction sites. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project completion. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: • May provide guidance and oversee the work of Electrical Apprentices on-site to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications. • Reports to and works under the supervision of a licensed Master Electrician, as required by state regulations. WORKING CONDITIONS: • Requires frequent physical activity, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials and equipment. • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and other job-specific safety gear as required on commercial construction sites. ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY: This position is subject to the DLP SERVICES, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Completion of a state-recognized electrical apprenticeship program. • Valid state-issued Journeyman Electrician license (if required). • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces. • Ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments. • Must pass a background check. Job Overview Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems for generation, distribution, or use of electricity. Work involves installation, maintaining, repairing, and testing of generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and low voltage distribution systems. Work is accomplished from schedules and work orders and may include drawings, sketches, plans and specifications. Diagnostics may be required to locate problems along with standard calculations relating to load requirements and wiring sizes. Use is made of standard electrician’s tools and equipment including that for test and measurement. Directs the workflow in the absence of the supervisor. Keep the supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: • Skills and knowledge related to the construction, maintenance, and operation of the electrical equipment and installations. • Able to read and understand the work order status. • Able to teach new apprentices. • Must be totally independent. • Must be able to estimate work request. • Must understand the effect of other disciplines regarding work assignments. • Must be fluent in all safety disciplines. • Interacts well with others. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Must be able to order parts online. • Proficient in organization and planning. • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy(600 Volts or less). • Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and other transmission equipment. • Locates and diagnoses trouble in electrical systems or equipment. • Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions. • Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. • Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations. • Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations. • Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills. • Proper use of the special precautionary techniques, PPE, including arc flash, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools and test equipment.
