Electrician III

Specific Responsibilities The electrician is responsible for the installation, tracking and optimization of electronic equipment used in field. • Install and/or replace electrical equipment and systems. • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment including tank levels, pressure instrumentation, safety switches, LACT units, automation timers, telephone lines and systems, chromatographs, electric motors and pumps, wiring conduits, motor starters, generators, control panels, voltage regulators, rectifiers, transformers, gas detectors, and fire alarm systems. • Perform minor maintenance on electronic instrumentation. • Maintain inventory and equipment logs. • Consult with vendors on the design and installation of new electrical equipment. • Purchase new electrical equipment as necessary. • Interpret schematics for electrical systems. • Must possess knowledge of high-voltage power line construction, maintenance and repair, including transformer sizing and installation. • Must be computer literate and able to utilize basic programs. • Participate appropriately on asset management teams in concert with technical groups and other field personnel in order to optimize operation efficiency and promote safety. • Track weekly usage of contract electricians (cost, hours used, job completed) and justify to foreman the use of said contractors. • Must maintain vigilance regarding health, safety and environmental issues. • Must have knowledge and ability to work with Emergency Response Teams and LEPCs in order to prepare for and respond to hazardous and/or unusual incidents, which may arise. Preferred Qualifications: • 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field • Previous Vendor and subcontract management experience Job Description • Utilizes an enhanced skillset to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), switchgear, PDU’s, electric panels, air compressors, generators, pumps, plumbing system components, lighting, and electrical systems, • Function as site point of contact as needed in the absence of the Senior Maintenance Technician. • Perform weekly and monthly inspections of the facility, grounds, and equipment to include fire life safety, eye wash stations, AED, exit signs. • Manages assigned work orders, recording time and materials needed to complete repairs. requests necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks through proper channels. Assists in inventory control. • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Notifies management of all impacting events in a timely manner. • Maintain maintenance logs and records as required. • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations • Must be familiar with testing equipment such as power meters to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems. • As required and assigned clean equipment, restrooms, floors, walls, and landscape. • Maintain, repair, and replace foamboard in data center areas as required and requested to support client initiatives and production. Kinetik employees have decades of experience in West Texas and provide all the important services our customers need to deliver gas and crude oil production to market, which include gathering, transportation, compression, processing and produced water management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Electrical Specialist is responsible for being the primary subject matter expert for the electrical power systems. This person will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the electrical power systems for the company. • Establish and manage the routine & predictive electrical equipment maintenance program which adheres to national codes and common industry accepted practices. • Manage the safety requirements for the electrical in the field • Performs routine & predictive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment and systems and directs other electrical workers in these tasks as required. • Performs analysis on gathered electrical data and utilizes results to make electrical equipment preventative maintenance and repair decisions • Performs troubleshooting and repairs including supervision of contractors in the event of electrical equipment or electrical power system failures. • All other duties as assigned Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: • 2-year degree in electrical technology or related field, or completion of recognized apprenticeship program and 8 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or 10 years of experience performing electrical power equipment maintenance, testing and repairs in an industrial environment. • NETA certification preferred • “Electrical qualified person”, by virtue of formal training and direct experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical power distribution equipment. • Possesses expert-level knowledge in electrical safe work practices, electrical equipment theory and operation as well as electrical maintenance standards. • Possesses expert knowledge in the use of computer software, VOAMs, Hi-pots, VLF testers, meggers, thermal imaging cameras, ground testers, and other specialized test equipment and routinely used electrical maintenance tools. Working Conditions: • Work may involve walking and standing on rough terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces. • The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate but may regularly require exposure to loud noises from machinery. • Will be required to regularly drive to other field facilities within their assigned region. • Will regularly use a computer to create, record, store, revise and save documentation needed to perform their role. Physical Requirements: • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards • Ability to work effectively in all working conditions noted above. • Ability to wear electrical safety equipment for extended periods • Able to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs. in a safe manner. • Ability to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone and in-person. • Moved to working conditions section. • Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
