This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You’ll Do: • Oversee electrical and lighting systems' general operation, repair, and maintenance. Perform new installations of equipment. • Check, repair, and replace functional components of electrical and lighting systems. Electrical Journeyman

A Journeyman Electrician works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent, and may oversee and direct the work of a crew of 1 to 5 helpers or apprentices in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • A Journeyman may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classifications E1-E5. In addition, a senior level Journeyman: • Interprets drawings and develops an overall crew work plan. • Lays out work and preps materials for installation. • Does rigging and job set ups for all tasks performed or supervised. • Performs underground layout and rough-in. • Determines wire and conduit sizing. • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders. • Installs BUSS feeders. • Performs switchgear installation and terminations. • Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints. • Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. • Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks. • Understands and instructs assigned helpers in the safe operation of tools, use of equipment, electrical principles, and applicable codes. • Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor. • Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
