Oilfield Electrician

Title: Oilfield Electrician Location: Jal, NM and Surrounding Areas Schedule: 5/2 Rotation (5 days on 2 days off) Hours: 10 to 12-hour days (Rotational Weekend Call Outs Required) Pay: For this role depends on experience within the range $35-$55/hr Top Focus of this Position: • Continual Field Maintenance and Troubleshooting of circuit breakers, limit switches, overload relays, motor starters, and electrical control circuits in an Upstream environment. • Has Knowledge and Understands Tank Battery Facilities Requirements Oilfield Electrician will have Knowledge and Ability to Perform the Following: • Able to utilize technical skills to troubleshoot production instrumentation, electronics, and electrical components. • Troubleshoot pump panels at a tank battery facility • Installs, repairs, or replaces 120V AC/DC motors, as well as hydraulic and gas electrical controls. • Working knowledge of control circuits in PLC switches • Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, electronic systems) • Installs, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and alternative electrical parts. • Tests electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance. Qualifications: • Experience troubleshooting motor starters and VFD’s/VSD's. • Able to do electrical equipment installations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks to maximize production and enhance the reliability of the operation. • Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems. • Familiar with installing, swapping, and testing single to three-phase motors. • Tests and commissions integrated and non-integrated electrical systems, i.e. switchgear, network relays. • Ability to use megger and multimeter. • Use reference documentation to size conductors, overload, and short circuit protection. • Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures (Federal, State, and local policies and procedures). • Must be willing to undergo background check and driving record check. • Must be willing and able to pass DOT drug screening / physical. • A minimum of 4-year Electrician experience is required • A minimum of 2-years Upstream experience is required • Journeyman’s Electrician License Preferred, but not required Benefits A Company Truck, Company Fuel Card, Computer, and Cell Phone as well as Excellent Medical Benefits, 401K, free life insurance, long-term and short-term disability, dental and eye care, Earned Vacation, Holiday Pay, in addition to 3 sets of FRCs.

Electrician

Essential Responsibilities • Installation, modification and repair of automated industrial control equipment • Strong understanding of software utilized within programmable logic control (PLC) systems • Design, plan, install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation such as loop controller, variable frequency drives, solid state reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet motor controls centers, belt scales, and control panels • Thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems • Must be available to work off shifts, weekends and holidays as needed • Assists in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment including conveyors, bucket elevators, and washing/drying equipment • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLC’s and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and , safety circuits • Install, troubleshoot and repair electric motors and equipment (120, 240 and 480V) • Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all electrical test equipment used to perform electrical/electronic repairs of production equipment • Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work • Contact vendors to source replacement components for all electrical/electronic equipment • May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors • Other duties as assigned Education and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent required • Associates degree preferred • Journeyman Electrician License preferred • Four years combined schooling and industrial experience required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong machine electrical background • I/O knowledge (hardwired/discrete, digital/ethernet, and analog) and the ability to read electrical schematics • Proven PLC troubleshooting experience - Allen Bradley RS 5000 a must, with networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.) experience desired. PLC background writing, debugging, developing and troubleshooting PLC’s desired • Proven HMI Programming experience preferred (Wonderware) • Computer skills - Windows environment, loading and setup of various software platforms desired • Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc. • Must be willing to work overtime when required • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems • Ability to read prints including mechanical and electrical prints • Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation • Knowledge of safety practices such as MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E and proper use of PPE • Strong communication skills Working Conditions & Physical Requirements • All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty • Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs • Safety-sensitivity position • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands • Ability to operate mobile equipment, foot pedals with both feet • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather • Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels • Ability to work in cramped quarters • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights • Lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 150 feet • Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 150 feet • Vision: normal depth perception, vision and ability to distinguish color All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
