The Role: The Electrical Engineer - will support the design and development of innovative, energy-efficient electrical hardware and firmware solutions. Responsibilities: • Support the design, development, optimization, and validation of power, analog, and digital hardware systems. • Design and develop electrical circuits used in power conversion applications such as variable speed drives (VSD/VFD). • Support the development and test of embedded firmware. • Perform technical feasibility analysis, architecture planning, and specification writing for new product designs. • Conduct thermal and electrical simulations, create hardware prototypes, and execute rigorous lab testing to validate designs against functional and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate closely with a global team to ensure smooth integration of hardware, firmware and software systems. • Support root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions for product issues. • Perform FMEA, risk analysis, and drive design improvements based on reliability and manufacturability. • Work cross-functionally with product managers, marketing, and customers to translate market needs into viable hardware solutions. • Stay up to date with emerging trends in power electronics, hardware development and firmware development to guide innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred). • 1-3 plus years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the development of power electronic products or embedded systems. • Hands-on experience with embedded system development and C/C++ programming for microcontrollers. • Proficiency in hardware design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, PSIM, or PLECS. • Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design, EMI/EMC mitigation strategies, and thermal management for power systems. • Experience designing with modern power electronics topologies (e.g., VFDs, active front ends, PFC circuits). • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
