PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS JOB: Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) is a vertically integrated global volumetric construction leader. The Electrician at VBC is responsible for installing and connecting power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical distribution boxes for new construction for modular buildings according to blueprints. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned) • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical distribution boxes for new modules. • Install various controls and distribution systems, ethernet cables, coax cable, switches, receptacles, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc. • Measure, mark, bore holes and connect wires according to floor layouts. • Perform other tasks as required such as kitting and construction of sub-assemblies. • Work in and provide support to other production areas when needed. • Comply with company and industry safety standards. • Other duties as assigned by management. REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered) Education • High school diploma or GED. • Electrical certification preferred. Experience • 2-5+ years’ electrical experience in construction. • Experience in manufacturing preferred. • Understand construction measurements and basic math. • Ability to read blueprints, easily understand materials and measurements from the prints, and identify potential issues with materials. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: typically required to perform the essential functions of this position. Problem-Solving/Decision-Making Skills • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Dependable and punctual. • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbally and in writing. • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required. • High regard for the quality of a finished product. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: typically required to perform the essential functions of this position. • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs regularly. • Ability to climb stairs and ramps, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, lift, grasp, speak, hear, and see objects. • Ability to respond quickly to sounds; ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. • Ability to work safely in confined spaces. • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time. WORKING CONDITIONS under which the essential functions of this position are typically performed. • Onsite work at Berwick facility. • Occasional overtime may be requested. • Frequent exposure to manufacturing plant environment. • Occasional exposure to general office setting. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: typically required to perform the essential functions of this position. • This position requires frequent and daily use of personal protective equipment when traversing the manufacturing floor, to include steel toed shoes, hard hat and safety glasses, and other PPE as directed.
