We here at Techniserv, Inc are seeking an Electrician to join our talented Electrical team. This position is onsite in Berwick, PA with a weekly schedule of Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Pay starts at $28.00/hr. - $31.00/hr. with an excellent benefits package that includes insurance, education, 401K, employee assistance program, and a yearly bonus. Pay commensurate with experience and education. The Electrician position is available for individuals with experience in the following areas: Required Experience: • High School diploma required. • 6-8 or more years of industrial electrical work experience. • HS Vocational school in Electrical trades or equivalent additional experience. • 1 or 2 year technical school degree/certificate, preferred not required. Job Details: • Responsible for installing and testing wiring, electrical devices, control equipment on industrial equipment. • Conduit layout including measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembly and installation. • Electrical control panel and instrumentation wiring/installation. • Installation of industrial network devices and wiring systems. • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings. • Should be comfortable with field wiring, troubleshooting, and instrument checks. • Configuration of Instrumentation and VFDs. • Thorough knowledge of electrical safety procedures. • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code. • Additional responsibilities may include building and equipment maintenance when necessary. • Perform all other duties and functions as assigned. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Installs, assembles, maintains, and aligns high-speed switching devices, large power transformers, high voltage and low voltage switchgear, motors, and associated equipment. 2. Performs routine diagnostic testing and utilizes standard test equipment, analyzing and interpreting results. 3. Works from hanging scaffolds, spiders, or similar support devices at any height. Operates and works from aerial devices such as: bucket or platform trucks and various hydraulic telescoping man-lifts up to 175' height rating. 4. Under close supervision (foreman is in close proximity and able to fully view work being performed), performs work using approved rubber glove and sleeve methods on energized conductors and buses above 600 volts. 5. Splices, installs, and terminates distribution, transmission, and fiber optics cable. 6. Performs work in the pulling and placing of distribution and transmission type cables in areas adjacent to energized (high voltage) equipment; i.e., energized manholes, vaults and transformers. 7. Tests, locates, clears faults on underground primary, and works on all de-energized equipment and energized low voltage (up to 600 volts) cables, secondary, service, street lights, and exposed terminals or bus bars using approved methods and proper equipment. 8. Maintains, installs, and wires relay and control devices on distribution and transmission class switchboards, self-contained breakers, and switchgear when such apparatus is not protecting or controlling system load. 9. Installs, adjusts, maintains, and aligns air switches and disconnect switches, including motor operators and interface piping; installs and assembles capacitor banks; mounts fuse switches, lightning arresters, insulators, bus support fixtures, potential and current transformers. 10. Performs layout, installation, and maintenance of such items as: junction boxes, battery and fuse cabinets, panel boards, receptacles, and lighting devices, auxiliary switches on operating devices, conduit runs, wire troughs, circuit breakers, and raceways. 11. Performs work in the assembly, installation, wiring, maintenance, and check out of low voltage (up to 600 volts) power and lighting systems; simple relay and control panels such as under-frequency relay cabinets; batteries and battery chargers, distribution panels, and other such equipment. 12. Assists with railroad track repairs and maintenance to include cad-welding grounds. 13. Uses computer-based systems pertaining to the job. 14. Performs stress relieving. 15. Installs and removes temporary safety grounds. 16. Performs rigging such as moving, placing, hanging or erecting structures, transformers, circuit breakers, switching devices, and machinery. 17. Operates permanently mounted hoists of any kind. 18. Holds clearance orders for the performance of the above-mentioned work. 19. Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary. MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school education or equivalent. 2. Successfully passing an Electrical Test for advancement. 3. Satisfactory performance and experience in lower classification and successful completion of appropriate Helper-Electrical units of instruction, (series 100 qualifications) or equivalent practical experience and training. 4. Motor vehicle operator’s license. 5. Knowledge of company’s Energy Control system. 6. Working knowledge of tools and materials used in electrical work. 7. Ability to interpret sketches, diagrams, and specifications. 8. Strength and endurance to perform the above duties. 9. Ability to obtain Asbestos Worker license. 10.
