Union Electrician Job Description JLL has a fantastic opportunity for a Union Electrician in Syracuse, NY. This position is site-based at a large manufacturing site that supports a variety of laboratories. Apply today and join us in shaping the future of real estate for a better world! Key Responsibilities • Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing/plant equipment • Performs preventive maintenance and calibration activities for the plant equipment • Knowledge of computers, PLCs, and other electronics • Troubleshooting electrical capability and the ability to maintain all plant equipment • Demonstrate the initiative to investigate and offer improvements to plant operations • Communicate appropriately with all site management employees • Service, clean, inspect and repair equipment periodically following established PMs • Create notifications and follow up on needed repairs and order required parts • Safely use basic hand and power tools such as a drill press, power saw, grinder, etc. • Read and interpret engineering drawings relative to the job assigned • Install electrical systems & equipment according to NEC provisions & best practices • Works safely and follows all established plant safety policies and procedures • Prepare and order parts and materials needed for jobs Qualifications Required • High School Diploma (Technical school preferred) or GED • 3-5 years of recent work experience in the Electrical trade • Required experience w/ 480V systems • Knowledge of industry best practices of safety procedures, including Arc Flash Protection and Lock Out Tag Out procedures • Experience with controls and control systems • Knowledge of industry best practices for safety procedures • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches • Advanced math calculation skills • Basic computer skills • Ability to work both independently and as a team member • Strong communication skills Preferred • Journeyman's Card • Electrical work on 13.8 kV substations and electrical switching up to 115,000 distribution • Technical school education or formal apprenticeship completion • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments • Experience with machining equipment such as band saw, drill press Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds • Manual dexterity for using hand and power tools • Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts • Visual acuity to read gauges, instruments, and technical documentation Location: Syracuse, NY Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm Sign-on Bonus: $1,500 Compensation: • First 60 days: $38.60/hr • 60 days to 16 weeks: $39.24/hr • After 16 weeks: $40.00/hr • Voluntary overtime available Estimated compensation for this position: 80,288.00 - 83,200.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ.
