Industrial Electrician Apprentice

Indiana SMA - Rogers Group Inc - Bloomington, IN Full-Time The candidate must be flexible with scheduling. While this position is typically a day-shift role, it also requires being on call as operational needs arise. Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill an INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICE position to cover our Indiana SMA Operations. This individual will be working under close supervision, to perform duties that include but are not limited to removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting where the primary objective is safe production. This position will report directly to the Lead Journeyman electrician. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Overall compensation will be determined based on experience and skill set of the selected candidate. Job Requirements/Qualifications: • One (1) year of experience in Electrical work, OR a technical certification or equivalent in an electrical related field is PREFERRED. • Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment. • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards. • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. • Ability to work a minimum of 50 hrs./week. • Ability to be on call during weekend operations unless otherwise requested off. • Valid state driver's license. • Must have a clean driving record and submit to a Motor Vehicle Records request. • Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations. Job Functions: • Assist in planning details of working procedure by determining replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correct the problem. • Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems. • Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed. • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA / MSHA requirements. • Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices. • Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, then splicing pieces. • Familiarity and experience working with PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers) is PREFERRED. • Experience working with High Voltage (480 volts) is PREFERRED. • Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade. • Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls. • Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved. • Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken. • Must pass pre-employment drug screening. General Job Description The Electrical Foreman is responsible for managing the daily field operations of electrical crews on residential or commercial job sites. This includes overseeing installations, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations, coordinating materials and labor, and ensuring work is completed according to project specifications and timelines. The Foreman serves as the lead field representative and plays a critical role in maintaining productivity and quality standards.
