Concrete Finishers utilize special tools and apply finisher skills and knowledge to level, flatten, and smooth concrete. Duties • Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers. • Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work. • Apply applicable materials to hardened concrete walls for a smoother architectural appearance. • Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions if clarification is needed. • Comply with all the safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety personnel. • Work effectively as a team member of the field workforce. • Follow supervisor instructions and decisions. • Understand and follow lock out/tag out procedures. • This position may supervise apprentice finishers. Qualifications • Three years of concrete finishing or related work experience. • Understands and conveys basic English commands, questions, and instructions regarding commercial construction. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist. • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to use carpentry math to calculate measurements. • Owns the tools required of the Concrete Finisher position. • Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines. • At least 18 years of age.
