Journeyperson Carpenter

The Journeyman Carpenter is a highly skilled employee who understands the importance of every detail. By implementing your skills and guiding others, you will provide our clients with their dream homes while helping train our lower-level employees. Success in this role is measured by your carpentry skills, especially finish work, but also framing, ability to work autonomously, ability to teach others, and willingness to step up to ensure work is done right. Our Journeyman Carpenter will provide our clients with the high-quality work they have come to expect from FORMA while providing support for our more junior employees. Responsibilities: • Review & interpret blueprints. • Fabricate and cut wood components. • Understand wood framing procedures & techniques. • Window and door frame installation. • Assess and repair wood structures. • Understand trim and finishing procedures & techniques. • Work on multi-day tasks independently. • Oversee and train apprentices and laborers on tasks assigned. • Ensure tools & equipment are clean, well maintained, and stored properly. • Other tasks as assigned Requirements: • 5+ years construction experience preferably on high-end projects. • Punctuality and a professional demeanor. • Ability to read, interpret, and follow plans. • A basic understanding of engineering requirements. • Strong leadership & communication skills. • Have your own basic tools needed for carpentry work. • Able to lift up to 50 pounds. • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
