Commercial Installer – Millwork & Trim Carpentry

Job Description We install stuff. If you’re a skilled carpenter with commercial millwork experience and you know how to get the job done professionally, we’d love to talk. Job Summary Toolkit Services is hiring experienced installers with a strong background in commercial millwork and trim carpentry. This position can be W-2 or 1099 and will require frequent travel (200–250 days per year), both by car and by plane. Pay will be based on experience. If you’re comfortable living life on the road, have a solid set of tools, and know how to read a plan set and make it happen, we want you on our team. We’re looking for reliable professionals with millwork and carpentry experience—especially those who have trimmed out spaces, assembled fixtures, and can install solid surface counters (seaming experience is a plus). You’ll work on commercial spaces like retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and offices, and your work will be a key part of getting these spaces ready for customers and guests. Duties • Abide by Toolkit's dress code and conduct policies on the job site. • Load and unload trucks to ensure safe and damage free delivery. • Use delivery tickets to check and confirm that all products listed are accounted for. • Always exhibit professionalism when interacting with others on the job site and on the phone. • Execute all phases of the assigned delivery, service order, installation/assembly, or project as directed by the lead installer or project director. • Complete any final adjustments, cleaning, and touch up before leaving the job site. • Identify and communicate damages, omissions, and customer concerns to the project director in a timely manner. • Execute punch list procedures as directed by the lead installer or project director. • Capture progress photos and completion photos and submit to the project director. • Provide assistance and guidance to new employees as needed. • Install commercial millwork and trim with a high level of finish detail • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and spec sheets • Assemble, install, and anchor millwork and casework per drawings • Seam and install solid surface countertops (if applicable) Requirements • Commercial millwork and carpentry experience required • Trim carpentry skills essential • Ability to seam solid surface counters is a plus • 10+ years experience preferred but not required • Valid driver's license • Must have auto insurance and adequate transportation. • Must be comfortable traveling 200–250 days/year (by car and/or plane) • Experience installing and assembling commercial fixtures. • This role will include local work with opportunity for traveling jobs as well. • Certificate of insurance and worker's comp (or exemption) required. • Carpentry and millwork experience a plus, but not required. • No sales background required. • Ability to work independently and follow directions • Ability to lead a team • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team. • Must be able to stand for up to 8 to 10 hours a day, bend, stoop, and safely lift heavy materials. • Must be willing to work overtime and weekend hours as needed. • Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints, sketches, building plans, and other specifications. • Must be proficient in using apps, sending emails and photos, and using cloud-based services. • Must have a strong commitment to job site safety. OSHA 10 or 30, Scissor Lift, and First Response Certification is a plus. • Must have and maintain a clean driving record. A motor vehicle report (MVR) will be run on all potential hires and will be randomly revisited throughout employment. • Must be always and remain drug free. Pre-employment drug screening is the standard procedure for all potential hires. Ongoing random drug screening may be conducted throughout employment. • Must have and maintain hand tools. Hand tools are defined as tools typically carried in one’s tool belt and/or small toolbox (including a cordless drill). • Strong customer service focus. Lead Carpenter

Reporting to the Skilled Crafts Trades Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance Department, the Lead Carpenter performs journey-level work related to the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of building structures, flooring, furniture, etc. Oversees critical day-to-day operations in supervisor's absence and acts as a subject matter expert who provides leadership to team members. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for operating and training others on: equipment, methods, and materials used to perform various carpentry projects throughout the University of California, Riverside campus. This position may work independently or as part of a team and responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate concerns and correct safety issues. Maintains a positive attitude for the team and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students. The full salary range for the Lead Carpenter is $44.91 - $50.56 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
