Drywall Technician / Finish Carpenter – Restoration Repairs & Reconstruction

Soria Contracting & Solutions is a locally owned, fast-growing property damage restoration company serving Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Santa Clara Counties. We specialize in water damage mitigation, mold remediation, fire/smoke cleanup, and the reconstruction of damaged areas. We are seeking a skilled Drywall Technician / Finish Carpenter to perform high-quality repair and patch-back work following property damage events. This role focuses on restoring homes to their pre-loss condition Job Summary: This position performs reconstruction work after water, fire, or mold damage, including drywall replacement, texture matching, finish carpentry, minor framing, and assisting with demolition or mitigation support as needed. Professionalism, craftsmanship, and respect for homeowners recovering from property damage are essential. Schedule: • Full-Time • Monday–Friday • Rotating On Call Schedule Responsibilities: Reconstruction & Repair (Primary Duties) • Replace and patch drywall removed during mitigation • Hang, tape, mud, and finish drywall to a smooth, paint-ready finish • Match various interior textures (knockdown, orange peel, smooth, skip trowel, etc.) • Install or replace trim, casing, baseboards, and moldings • Reset vanities, cabinets, and fixtures removed during mitigation • Perform minor framing repairs (blocking, studs, backing) • Deliver clean, detail-oriented work to restore rooms to pre-loss condition • Protect flooring and personal property in occupied homes Finish Carpentry • Install trim, casing, baseboards, and molding with precision • Perform detail work for punch lists and final repairs • Prepare work areas for painting and finishing Restoration & Mitigation Support (As Needed) • Controlled demolition (drywall, trim, cabinets, insulation) • Water mitigation support (equipment setup, extraction, moisture readings) • Mold remediation support (HEPA vacuuming, wiping, containment assistance) • Fire/smoke cleaning and deodorization • Crawlspace work Documentation: • Take clear jobsite photos throughout each task • Log work in Company Software via mobile app • Communicate progress and findings to project managers Qualifications • 1+ year of drywall hanging and finishing experience required • Experience with finish carpentry (trim/base/casing) strongly preferred • Restoration experience is a plus (training provided) • Ability to match textures accurately • Comfortable in attics, crawlspaces, and confined areas • Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR required for company vehicle use • Must demonstrate and uphold Soria Contracting & Solutions’ core values:Integrity, Empathy, Discipline, Teamwork, and Philanthropy • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus • Candidates may be required to undergo a post-offer background check in accordance with California law. • Any findings will be evaluated only if job-related and consistent with business necessity.
