This role involves working with both hand and power tools, reading technical drawings, selecting and shaping materials, and applying finishes. Key Responsibilities: • Construct, repair, and install wooden structures, cabinetry, and interior/exterior trim on vessels. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to execute precise work. • Select appropriate materials, adhesives, and fasteners for marine applications. • Utilize planers, saws, routers, and other woodworking tools safely and effectively. • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, including shipyard and confined-space protocols. • Work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored. • Communicate effectively with team members, clients and subcontractors to meet project deadlines. • Be flexible with working hours, including potential overtime, to support project timelines. Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Marine Carpenter or in a related field. • Strong repair skills and proficiency in woodworking tools and techniques. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and marine safety standards. • Comfortable working in confined spaces and adjusting to varying environmental conditions.
