Commercial Carpenter

Third-generation family-owned SE Portland-based non-union Commercial General Contractor looking for experienced Commercial Journeyman Carpenters. Recognized as one of the Top 100 Best Companies to work for in Oregon, we specialize in all types of building construction. Focused primarily on the Portland market, we do occasional projects in surrounding areas throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. We offer a stable list of business from repeat clients and Owner investment properties. We can keep you busy! Requirements for a Commercial Journeyman Carpenter position: · Must have at least 5 years of experience. · Read plans, blueprints, job orders, and drawings to accurately plan building and repair projects. · Determine materials and tools needed for projects and retrieve these supplies from supply companies or company inventory. · Take and record precise measurements. · Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in feet and inches · Cut and shape construction materials to precise specifications based on measurements. · Repair foundations and structures. · Build cabinets, framing, staircases, windows, exterior siding, and doors, in addition to hanging drywall, installing carpet, and laying tiles and wood flooring. · Train apprentices and other employees. · Keep track of inventory of jobsite materials and order additional as required. · Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and wear proper protective equipment. · Able to work indoors and out, in all weather conditions, while laying, bending, squatting, and stretching. · Generally skilled at all phases of finishing and repair of Commercial Buildings. · Use analytical skills and good attention to detail to determine how to build new structures and make repairs to existing ones. · Experienced using associated tools. · Ability to lift and manipulate objects weighing up to 80 pounds. · High attention to detail and accuracy. · Inspect work for accuracy and quality. · Basic understanding of local building codes. · Self-motivated and able to perform unsupervised, if necessary. · Can work well with a partner or alone. · Previous experience in the trade with verifiable references preferred. · Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. · Must be able to pass background check and drug test. Benefits: · Wage DOE (Prevailing Wage when required by the project). · One (1) week paid sick leave per Portland law.
