Position Overview We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team in Rock Hill, SC. The CWI will play a critical role in ensuring quality standards are met in both training and testing environments. This position will involve inspecting welds, overseeing qualification testing, assisting in training delivery, and working with both students and employers to uphold AWS, ASME, and industry requirements. Key Responsibilities • Perform visual weld inspections and ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and applicable codes. • Administer, supervise and process welder performance qualification tests. • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and certifications. • Support instructor teams with curriculum alignment to industry standards. • Serve as a technical resource for students and employers on welding procedures and quality requirements. • Ensure safety standards are upheld at all times during testing and training. Qualifications • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required. • Minimum 3 years of welding inspection or quality assurance experience (educational setting a plus). • Strong knowledge of AWS/ASME codes and welding processes (GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, FCAW). • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Passion for workforce training and helping welders achieve career success. Preferred • Experience in a trade school, technical training, or workforce development environment. • Additional certifications (CWE, NDT Level II, API) highly desirable.
