Fabricator – Welding and Machine Operation

Job Title Fabricator – Welding & Machine Operation Job Description Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Fabricator for a leading manufacturing and production facility. We are seeking hands-on, detail-oriented individuals with experience in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, welding, and machine operation. Responsibilities As a Fabricator, your responsibilities will include: • Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and measurements to determine job specifications. • Fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components. • Operating hand and power tools such as saws, jigsaws, table saws, grinders, and drills. • Performing various welding techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, or Hand Welds, depending on project needs. • Measuring, cutting, and shaping materials with precision. • Operating fabrication machinery safely and efficiently. • Using a forklift or material handling equipment to transport parts and materials as needed. • Performing quality checks on finished work to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications. • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Requirements • Prior experience in metal fabrication and welding (required). • Proficiency in one or more welding processes: Stick, MIG, TIG, or Hand Welding. • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, and grinders. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. • Experience operating fabrication or machine shop equipment. • Forklift experience (or willingness to obtain certification). • Strong attention to detail and safety. • Dependable work history with consistent tenure. Skills & Qualifications • Welding, cutting, and assembly of metal components. • Tool and machine operation proficiency. • Blueprint and schematic reading. • Quality inspection and problem-solving. • Teamwork, communication, and time management. Shifts & Hours • Full-time, 1st Shift schedule. • Monday – Friday (overtime may be required based on workload). Welder/Finisher

Perform welding activities or a combination of welding and finishing activities to complete final fabrication and assembly of hollow metal frames and wood doors. Use hand-welding equipment to weld or join metal components and grinding equipment to finish. Perform other general shop tasks. • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly to obtain required configurations or positions for welding, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, clamps, tape measures and rulers. Cut/alter material components as needed. • Prepare, set up, and operate necessary tools and equipment's for welding job such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipment's common to the trade. • Perform finishing tasks such as grinding, painting, etc. • Examine finished product and compare to order specifications. • Organize and put away incoming product/materials • Stage outgoing product for pick-up or delivery • Assist loading/unloading trucks and moving of material/product, may require use of forklift • Maintain cleanliness of workspace and assist with general shop maintenance • Alter hollow metal doors/wood doors as required, install lite kits • Make local deliveries (if necessary) • Perform on-site labor/service Qualifications • Previous welding experience preferred • Knowledge of welding machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance • Application of basic math and geometry • Ability to follow written, visual (drawings or images), and verbal instructions and work independently • Position may require a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. • Willingness and able to work overtime as needed • Utilize technology for tracking hours and job progress (computers, iPad, etc.) Additional Information Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance, as well as Voluntary Benefits, HSA & FSA, and Employee contribution to 401k. *Employer match, up to 4%. Hourly: Based on experience Hours: M-Th 7am-5pm and Fri 7 am-11 am Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
