This position is responsible for fabricating parts according to instructions and within specified time frame, using the appropriate tools and/or equipment according to safety and quality standards, as well as carrying out any other duties as directed by Team Leader or Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Pass AWS D1.1: 2020 Welder Test. • Understand and perform weld machine setup. • Understand and read blueprints. • Perform all essential functions of a “Welding Apprentice.” • Weld press brake side plates, lower beams, and upper frames together to produce a frame that is ready for paint. • Train other employees on the tasks of a “Welding Apprentice.” • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace. • Keep management informed of status, issues, etc. • Manages time and resources. • Complies with established policies. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Capable of performing all essential functions of a “Welding Apprentice.” • Contribute to team effort. • Maintain professional attitude and possess technical knowledge. • Act on constructive feedback. • Improve processes. • Uphold work standards. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: • Welding Supervisor • Production Assistant Manager • Plant General Manager SUBORDINATE STAFF: • None KNOWLEDGE: • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience working in manufacturing and production preferred. • Experience driving a forklift and using measuring tools preferred. • ISO and SAP experience, is a plus. SKILLS: • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Mathematical skills. • Reasoning and Problem-solving skills. • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel.) • Ability to design custom reports as requested. TRAVEL: • Minimal to no travel required.
