Structural Welder - High Point

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is looking for experienced MIG Welders to join our fabrication shop in High Point, North Carolina. In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision. Benefits: • Weekly Pay • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance • 401(k) with generous company match • Free Basic Life Insurance • Short & Long-Term Disability Schedule: • 1st Shift , 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary • 2nd Shift , 4:00pm-2:30am with OT as necessary Location: 250 Swathmore Ave, High Point, NC 27263 Responsibilities: • Weld structural steel members using (MIG) wirefeed processes • Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures • Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements • Follow proper safety instructions • Work in a team environment • Perform other duties as needed by supervision Education Requirements: • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required Job Requirements/Special Skills: Specific Structural Welding Skills: • Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8“ material • Good verbal communication skills with other employees • Positive attitude • Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement • Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements • Ability to read blueprints Specific Physical Skills: • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs • Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels

Structural Welder

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structural Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling structural metal components according to engineering blueprints and specifications. This role involves working with a variety of metals and welding processes to construct large structures pertaining to the support of large environmental air systems.. Key Responsibilities: • Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine job requirements. • Weld structural components using techniques such as MIG, TIG, stick (SMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). • Cut, fit, and assemble metal components using various hand and power tools. • Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of structural steel components. • Inspect welds for quality and conformance to specifications. • Maintain and operate welding equipment and tools in a safe, clean, and functional manner. • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure project success. • Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on welding equipment. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED; completion of a welding certification program or apprenticeship preferred. • Proven experience as a structural welder or in a related role. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols. • Strong understanding of various welding techniques and metal properties. • Ability to work at heights and in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead). • Familiarity with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE). • AWS (American Welding Society) certification is a plus. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. • Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. • Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, bending, and climbing. Work Schedule: Full-time; may require overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines. There are first and second shift positions open.
