Welder

Positions available first shift weekdays. The Welder must be capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary. • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, general arrangement and sub-component detail drawings • Maintain, repair, rebuild and fabricate parts when required for all types of industrial equipment • Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose equipment problems and performs necessary repairs and reports findings to supervision • Performs MIG, arc and TIG welding, layout, and pipefitting functions • Full compliance with plant, state and federal safety regulations and general work rules. Use of proper lock-out procedure and personal protective equipment • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures • Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material • Tacks assemblies together • Chip off excess weld, slag and spatter • Cleans or de-greases parts • Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding • Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area • Other duties as assigned Education A high school diploma or GED is required; military experience, trade or technical school preferred Experience & Skills • Certified Welder • Required to obtain a D14.1 certification at a G1-G4 position within 30 days after hire, If they have already obtained certification with a previous employer is does not apply in our facility. They would need to qualify with Mazzella. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication environment or other equivalent experience • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints • Possess a working knowledge of all applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, and OSHA) • Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude At Mazzella, we're more than just a company – we're a family. Welder Repair & Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY The Welder Repair & Service Technician’s primary function is to provide technical service, support and expertise for metalworking equipment for existing and potential Arc3 customers and Arc3’s salesforce. RESPONSIBILITIES • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the welding and metalworking equipment Arc3 sells, how the equipment functions, how to troubleshoot and effectively repair it, and how Arc3’s customers use the equipment so you can optimize that usage and earn “trusted expert” status. • Utilize strong product knowledge, technical, sales, and self-management skills to deliver exceptional value and a superior customer experience. • Help Arc3’s customers generally improve their business operations by ensuring that their equipment is performing at optimal levels and they are using the right equipment in the most appropriate way to best accomplish their tasks. • Continuously diagnose customer needs and expectations (i.e., product orders, potential sales, service issues, technical support needs) and share that vital information with appropriate Arc3 personnel. • Act with integrity and a sense of urgency, being reliable and persistent, and building long-term customer relationships. • Step in and perform any job to ensure uninterrupted, exceptional customer service, including assisting customers in the branch, as needed. • Always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. • Maximize product knowledge and remain aware of industry trends. • Optimize repair and maintenance skills through continuous training as determined by you and your supervisor, including training at equipment manufacturer sites. • Maintain CST (Certified Service Technician) status through ongoing training with the major brands Arc3 represents. • Travel to designated branches weekly and make customer service calls as scheduled. • Be proficient at working with various tools and instruments including laptop interfaces, smart phone interfaces, voltage/multimeters, etc. • Always strictly follow Arc3’s and its customers’ safety policies and procedures, including OSHA’s Lockout/Tagout procedures, and never risk your own or others’ safety. • Troubleshoot, repair, and/or service Arc3-owned welding equipment, ironworkers, saws, cutting machines, etc. • Assist branches in assembling, installing, and delivering welding and metalworking equipment as needed. • Make and keep both internal and external appointments. • Promptly process customer warranty paperwork as needed. • Provide repair estimates as required. • Prepare delivery tickets correctly and submit them daily to the appropriate branch. • Update service and parts manuals as needed. • Maintain an appropriate inventory of repair parts for service vehicle and service shop. • Maintain and clean your service shop regularly. • Participate in inventory counts as needed. • Maintain all company required paperwork. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Technical education preferred. Examples include CST, welding engineering technician degrees, or other related engineering degrees, electronics or electrical degrees. • Certified Service Technician license preferred. • Minimum 2 years of mechanical, electrical, or electronics experience required. • Experience interacting directly with customers required. • Good driving record required. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Sitting, using arms and hands, seeing, hearing, reading, walking, driving. • Occasional lifting and moving. • Occasional handling of heavy materials (cylinders, boxes, etc.) up to 150 pounds, with or without accommodation. • Service shop, retail store, and gas distribution plant environments. • Daily driving to and from stores.
