MIG Welder II (3rd Shift)

Perform MIG welding tasks according to established procedures and quality standards. Operate welding equipment and tools safely and effectively. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Inspect and troubleshoot welding equipment and make necessary adjustments. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet production goals. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and quality standards. Continuously strive to improve welding skills and keep up with industry advancements and best practices. Communicate any issues or concerns related to welding tasks to the supervisor in a timely manner. Assist in training and mentoring new or less experienced welders. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including production reports and quality control documents. Participate in team meetings and provide suggestions for process improvements. Adhere to all Cummins' values and code of conduct. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Welder​/Fabricator

Position: Welder /Fabricator Position is located in Forest City, NC. We are looking for 3rd shift welders for an Assembly plant. Shift hours: Sunday - Thursday 9:30PM - 6AM with OT expected. Pay per hour depends on certifications and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements and technical documents, or other verbal or written instructions to plan layouts. • Weld small and large components using carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloy materials. • Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and use tools to make or repair parts and products. • Maintain and repair all machinery and keep a clean and tidy workspace. • Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors. • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes. • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature. • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. • Meet all safety requirements of the company and industry. • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures. • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise. REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent qualification. • A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred. • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a welder. • Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs. • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination. • Ability to lift at least 70 lbs (maximum). • Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting, standing, or kneeling for extended periods of time. • Must have good eyesight, including depth perception and peripheral vision. • Ability to work and communicate well with others. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to sharp objects, fumes or airborne particles, temperature changes and loud noise levels. • Ability to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and public holidays if necessary. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: • Fabricate steel, stainless steel, heavy and light structures, frames, skids, piping, tanks, sheet metals and other projects. • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses and operate welders, drill press, band saw, oxy-acetylene torch, plasma cutters, etc. • Design and construct templates and fixtures. • Weld on a variety of materials to include titanium, hastelloy, aluminum, stainless, and carbon. • Perform field welds on equipment and pressure vessels in various locations and positions. • Welder/fabricators may be asked to help in the preparation of equipment for painting, assembly of equipment for shipping, testing of equipment, installation of equipment, and other duties required in daily production activities. • May be required to get certification in operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and man lifts. • May be required to work from heights and confined spaces. • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.#J-18808-Ljbffr
