Electrical Mechanical Technician

Job Summary Battelle is seeking a Electro-Mechanical Technician in our Defense and Material Solutions (DMS) Business Line within our National Security Business Unit. This position supports the Advanced Materials and Energetics (AME) Division and the Systems Development, Modernization and Prototyping (SDMP) Division. The Technician will conduct advanced diagnostic analysis of products using schematics, diagrams, and system knowledge. Active areas of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) for this position include Unmanned, Robotic, and/or Autonomous Systems, Sensor/Payload Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Vehicle Interactions, and Autonomous/Semi-Autonomous Heavy Equipment Operations in Hazardous Environments (such as explosive ordnance and Civil Engineering Operations). This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located on-site at Tyndall Air Force Base, near Panama City, FL. Responsibilities • Master level mechanical or electrical skills. • Exceptional ability to conceive and prototype mechanical/vehicle devices. • Exceptional problem-solving and innovation skills. • Provides input and suggestions to designers and engineers. • Works independently on special products and prototypes in conjunction with engineers to meet defined schedules. • Provides oversight and review of work performed by junior personnel. • Works with engineering to develop specialized components and products. • Provides guidance and leadership to less senior staff. • Works well with no supervision to complete multiple tasks. Key Qualifications • High school diploma; 5 years of exceptional experience in conducting related electrical/mechanical assembly tasks; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field. May require a technical degree. • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Preferred Qualifications • Specific experience related to software engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, robotics, and equipment maintenance is desired. Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drafting. • An associate in science (AS) degree in engineering or scientific discipline with at least 5 years of RDT&E experience and a proven record of the specific experiences described are acceptable Benefits: Live an Extraordinary Life We care about your well-being, not just on the job.
