Project oversight manages all phases from project planning by creating an accurate and complete scope of work, to budgeting, execution, quality control, and completion. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, including our customer, contractors, and suppliers. Responsibilities • Determines requirements to aid or develop project plans, statement of works, risk assessments, project scheduling, and final inspections for facility related projects for all projects. • Has the ability to assemble cross functioning teams, lead team members, and execute plans for facility projects. • Ability to schedule multiple projects with multiple contractors across a variety of disciplines. • Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs of process equipment, facility damage, or repairs. • Review, submit, and execute work orders for facility repairs, safety compliance and process improvements. • Establish priorities of projects based upon company goals and objectives. • Provide quality assurance of all facility related projects whether internal or external. • Represent the organization by acting as a liaison for interdepartmental and external government customers. • Must have a thorough working knowledge of standard industry practices, current building codes, NFPA, ADA, and OHSA requirements. • Have the ability to perform job duties under minimal supervision and provide professionalism and excellent work ethics. • Provide subject matter expert reviews of proposals, assist in proposal evaluations, source selection criteria, performance oversight of subcontractors, invoice approval, and contract closeouts. • Develop and sustain policies and procedures for the facility department. • Participate in planning, evaluations, and reviews of DPW, Corp of Engineer, and IMCOM construction projects. • Effectively develop briefings and present information to upper management, directors, or government officials. • Ensure M1 Performance Work Statement Requirements are met. Qualifications and Experience • High School Diploma required. A bachelor's degree in related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building science is desired) with a minimum of 2 years' experience or a minimum of seven years' experience in construction or project management. • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Projects, and MS PowerPoint. • Project Management Certification, or PMP is desired. • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance as required by PWS. • Must be able to move about inside and outside aircraft hangars, shops, and buildings. • Must be self-motivated, reliable, and able to deal with short suspenses and timelines in a professional manner. Working Conditions The Project Engineer typically works both in an office setting and on project sites, requiring a balance of administrative tasks and hands-on management. They may work long hours, especially as project deadlines approach, and must be prepared to address issues that arise on-site. Position: Ballistics Engineer III *Clearance Required* Overview Piper Companies is seeking a Ballistics Engineer III to support a federal defense research initiative focused on combat injury prevention and protective equipment development. This full-time onsite role is located in Fort Novosel, Alabama and offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research, including the design of advanced helmets to reduce brain trauma from helicopter crashes. Qualifications Required: • Active Secret clearance. • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. • Hands-on experience in ballistics, including one or more of the following: • Firearms or weapon systems • Ammunition or projectile design/testing • Simulation of projectile trajectories • Forensic analysis of bullet impacts • Defense or aerospace engineering roles • Military or law enforcement experience with munitions Preferred: • Experience with high-velocity projectiles and experimental setups. • Familiarity with custom test rigs, sensors, and data acquisition systems. • Proficiency in Solid Works/CAD and MATLAB. • Experience working with cadavers or comfort in such environments. • Publications or documented project work in ballistics or related fields.
