Join us and our growing business as we supply solutions that enable the latest defense technology! • *Job Summary:** Perform engineering duties in researching, planning, designing, and developing the mechanical aspects of products for use in aerospace or electronics marketplace. Work on new product designs, modernization, and upgrades, as well as perform extensive analyses to ensure cost, quality, and customer requirements. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform daily assignments. Apply principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. The Mechanical Engineering Intern would have the unique experience of interacting directly with senior level engineers working on products in various stages of their life cycle. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will get exposure to research, design, development, and production of high frequency sub-systems that are used in various military applications. Responsibilities and tasks will be tailored to the applicant's abilities. • *Essential Functions:** + Work effectively with other functional groups to achieve product performance + Generate models and conduct analyses that are in compliance with requirements + Perform design experiments and evaluate test results to validate analysis + Build quality and manufacturability into the design + Generate and review engineering documentation related to product development: technical drawings, procedures, reports, correspondence, etc. • *Likely Project Areas** **:** + Update structural analysis models using ANSYS to compare mechanical connection types + Design and test tooling/fixturing for manufacturing proximity sensors & switches • *Minimum** **Qualifications** : + Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering + Must provide GPA, minimum accepted 3.1 on a 4.0 scale + Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills + Possess effective interpersonal skills in a team environment + Must be project-oriented and be able to multi-task + Knowledge/proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft PowerPoint + Ability to fulfill a one quarter or semester internship commitment, 40 hours per week + Available to work full-time during summer months + **Eligibility Requirement:** This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
