The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have the following responsibilities: - With high-level goals provided, create, establish and support client relationships and lead project and technical delivery for opportunities in the MEP/Facilities market space. - Design systems of basic to high complexity as necessary to meet client requirements, including: HVAC systems master planning & studies; HVAC & Plumbing systems; mechanical systems (co-generation); centralized energy systems and energy efficiency improvements for large campus environments such as manufacturing facilities, hospitals and water systems for sustainability/energy efficiency/renewable energy/green buildings focused projects. - Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs). Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs. - Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. - Perform other duties as required such as creating engineering designs including: HVAC systems master planning & studies; HVAC & Plumbing systems; mechanical systems (co-generation); sustainability/energy efficiency/renewable energy/green buildings; etc. of basic to high complexity to meet client project requirements. - Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs. Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. - Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Position Overview As a Mechanical Design and Process Engineer, you will be working within Systems, R&D, and Process Development teams and specifically assist in designing, building, and testing of new systems for the production of Cement or other Cementitious materials. You will work with existing Systems Engineers and the R&D scientists to develop new tools and processes to push the research forward while also working with our vendors and suppliers in helping scale the technology to industrial scales. Rapid & interactive communication skills is a must. • Work closely with the R&D team to refine and develop the technology. • Facilitate the R&D and engineering teams with scale-up from bench top to pilot and production scale currently used in the cement industry. • Integrate R&D equipment under a unified control and data collection architecture using PLC, SCADA, or other control methods. • Mitigate project risks based on previous experience with engineering novel processes. • Help build and develop our team, facility and calibrate or upgrade equipment as needed. • Carry out general research on targeted industries, including attending technical conferences and reading and evaluating published literature.
