Mechanical Designer 1

Description: JOB PURPOSE: The Mechanical Designer 1 position will help provide comprehensive mechanical engineering services geared to cover all facets of the construction process, beginning with design initiation, through the commissioning of systems. This position will report to The Mechanical Department Manager and office Principal and serve as a key member of the Engineering team. At Energy 1, our passion is to Demand Better. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mechanical Designer will possess strong abilities to work collaboratively with all members of the design team, and effectively communicate with customers, contractors, and staff. They should be a self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently, and with others to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to changing demands. Specific Job Duties: • Under the guidance of a mechanical engineer or experienced designer, develop and prepare detailed engineering and construction installation documents and provide engineering support during the construction phase of a wide range of project types including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and healthcare. • Perform drafting (Revit or AutoCAD) of mechanical and plumbing systems. • Design of mechanical and plumbing systems including, but not limited to, forced and hydronic systems, sanitary drainage, domestic water, and fuel gas piping systems. • Perform mechanical system design analysis including, but not limited to heating/cooling load calculations, and plumbing load calculations. • Aid in producing complete, code compliant project contract documents including drawings and specifications to be used for permitting, bidding, and construction. • Perform construction administration including tasks such as field inspections and reports, submittal reviews, RFI responses, project closeouts, as-built documentation, and issuing design change directives. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: • 0 to 3 years professional experience in mechanical and plumbing design. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Revit (preferred), Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: communicate with others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is rarely required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work in an office setting. This position will require occasional travel to project sites. • This is an in-person/in-office position located in Grand Junction, CO and may be working on projects nationwide and with coworkers in remote locations. • This non-exempt hourly position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion. HVAC Sheet Metal Installer Journeyman (Grand Junction, CO)

Essential Job Functions • Meet all requirements of a 4 year apprentice • Use of all tools, equipment and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the HVAC/piping industry. • Have the minimal tools as required by the company in his/her possession. • Direct the activities of field crew member(s) in accordance with job schedules and priorities as coordinated with project manager/customer/general contractor and field foreman as applicable. • Submit daily job progress reports to supervisors as required. • Responsible for ordering stock or fabricated materials as far in advance as possible to complete assigned tasks either personally or through site foreman. • Responsible for physical jobsite organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area. • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of company equipment as well as monitoring the use and timely return of rented equipment. • Responsible for the accurate accounting of labor hours to the accounting department, material sheets and change orders, etc. • Responsible for instruction and on the job training of apprentices which includes emphasis on safety. • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required. • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards. Ensure that all necessary inspections are made through all phases of work. • Support the total quality effort. Temperature Control System Specialist II

Job Title: Temperature Control System Specialist II • Key Responsibilities: • Support customers by troubleshooting and programming temperature control systems based on project specifications. • Perform installation, warranty, and emergency procedures to ensure seamless operation. • Serve as a mentor to junior technicians and provide expert guidance on industry best practices. • Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers recommendations, in accordance with industry standards. • Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure that specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met. • Create control graphics for projects and provide the labor and expertise for the delivery of graphical user interfaces in accordance with industry standards. • Instruct customer's personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conservation techniques. • Provide information to update drawings and keep records of equipment for as-built documentation. • Advise management of additional sales potential and solicit service contracts while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks. • Provide guidance for junior technicians on jobsites and work processes. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may occur throughout the sequences of a project. Requirements: • A degree in computer or electronic technology and 1 year experience with temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service or 3-5 years experience in a similar role. • Proficient programming and troubleshooting skills with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems. • Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges. • Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications. • Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures. • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and take responsibility for results. • Strong customer service and analytical skills.
