This position offers the opportunity to work on a range of large-scale projects including schools, retail centers, warehouses, and office buildings. Job Summary: The Commercial Mason is responsible for performing masonry work on commercial construction sites, including the laying of brick, block, and stone for structural and decorative elements. This role requires the ability to follow construction plans and specifications while working with other trades to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background, excellent craftsmanship, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: • Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stone for commercial structures including walls, partitions, veneers, retaining walls, and other architectural features. • Interpret and work from blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications to determine layout and material requirements. • Cut, shape, and finish masonry materials using hand and power tools. • Mix and apply mortar, grout, and bonding agents to set and seal units in place. • Set up scaffolding and work at various heights in accordance with safety protocols. • Ensure that all work aligns with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. • Collaborate with site supervisors, general contractors, and other construction professionals to meet project deadlines and resolve on-site issues. • Maintain and care for masonry tools and equipment. • Keep the worksite clean and organized during and after masonry operations.
