The role requires attending daily onsite safety briefings before the commencement of work, where employees must understand the safety protocols and inspect their surroundings, equipment, and tools. Identifying and discussing any safety concerns is crucial to maintaining a safe work environment. The execution of project tasks must be done with a clear understanding of expected production rates, ensuring that tools and materials are utilized safely and efficiently to complete the assigned projects. Employees are expected to complete projects according to the scope of work, design, and specifications outlined in the contract and engineering documents, as directed by the foreman. This includes aiding the foreman in tracking and monitoring project inventory, maintaining high-quality customer relations, and projecting a positive image on-site. Knowledge of and compliance with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, such as OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, and EPA, is essential. Additionally, employees must provide management with timely notifications of any real or potential job problems and accept responsibility for the care and use of company equipment, materials, tools, and other assets assigned by the WTI Commercial Foreman. Proper material and equipment usage, maintenance, and storage are also part of the job responsibilities. The role may require performing other duties or projects as assigned by the WTI Foreman or Commercial Business Manager, all while maintaining ethical business conduct. We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This role is critical to ensure timely delivery and pickup of materials and equipment to support our construction projects. Key Responsibilities: • Delivery and Pickup: Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle Flatbed truck to deliver and pick up construction materials, concrete products, and heavy equipment to and from job sites in Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and surrounding areas. • Routine Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of vehicles (e.g., hosing down concrete mixers to prevent buildup) and conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluid levels, greasing parts, and ensuring equipment functionality. • Scheduling Repairs: Identify mechanical issues, report them to supervisors, and coordinate with maintenance teams or external vendors to schedule repairs for trucks, trailers, and equipment to minimize downtime. • Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with crew leaders, supervisors, and dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules, report issues, and ensure job site efficiency. Utilize radio or other communication tools as needed. • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety protocols. Ensure proper load securement and compliance with weight and safety standards. • Additional Duties: Assist with job site tasks when not driving, such as shop maintenance, cleanup, or supporting crew members as directed by supervisors. Requirements: • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (no more than 3 points, no major violations in the last 5 years). • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience, preferably in construction or concrete/ masonry related field. • Experience towing heavy equipment, such as forklifts, skid steers, etc • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues. • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with crew leaders, supervisors, and dispatch. • Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb in and out of trucks, and handle exposure to outdoor weather conditions. • Willingness to work overtime, or an occasional weekend • Familiarity with Southwest Florida routes and traffic patterns is preferred. • Current medical certificate required.
