Job Overview: Marvin Composites is actively seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our dynamic team. You will also receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus! Schedule: 6:30 AM - 6:45 PM Work 7 out of 14 days every two weeks. Enjoy a 3-day weekend off every other weekend! The typical schedule consists of 36 hours in one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours in the following week (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat). Pay: Compensation is based on experience. Highlights of your role: • Engage with cutting-edge equipment in a fully equipped Tool and Die department, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. • Set up, program, and operate CNC machines such as vertical mills, wire EDMs, and surface grinders to create and refine precision dies and tooling. • Develop and modify programs on various controls to manufacture our premium tooling. • Inspect, maintain, and repair machining equipment, tools, and dies to ensure optimal performance. • Conduct quality checks using measuring and gauging tools to guarantee precision and compliance with guidelines for on-time delivery and minimal waste. What does the Machining Coordinator do at SpecSys? • Primary Responsibilities: program CNC machines and maintain centralized networked programs, specifying fixtures, where applicable; specifying what parts should go across the machining centers, etc.; verifying productsprocesses as intended and programmed • Coach and mentor team members in machining departments • Plan and coordinate work center schedules and manpower requirements according to project/job requirements • Lead and conduct formal problem-solving training and activities • Review relative production reports (productivity, quality, budget, etc.) and initiate corrective actions when/where appropriate • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency and productivity of production workers, machines themselves, and to improve product quality while reducing costs • Ensure in-process controls are routinely followed to verify product quality standards are met • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety regulations What are we looking for in a great Machining Coordinator? • 10+ years of machine shop experience, including 5 years in supervisory role • Experience in job shop environment • Ability to travel regionally • Detailed understanding of CNC programming, machining processes and maintenance, and shop capabilities • Understanding of fixtures and their use, where appropriate on machining centers • Knowledge of computers and controls • Mechanical knowledge of designing and controlling of equipment • Ability to read and understand written information, including production prints • Strong problem Identifying skills • Ability to review information and use math skills to solve problems • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, crawl, and stand for up to 8 plus hours per workday OR Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable.
