CNC Swiss Machinist - 2nd Shift

Description Lou-Rich is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Swiss Machine Operator to join our team. As a key player in the manufacturing process, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining the computer-controlled machinery that brings our customers’ products to life. Your expertise in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines will be crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality precision parts. POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a CNC Swiss Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce high-precision parts. This role requires a strong technical background, a high attention to detail, and an ability to work with tight tolerances. You will work closely with our production team to ensure parts meet our quality standards and production schedules. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Prepare and set up CNC Swiss machines based on job specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings. · Operates all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully. · Interpret CNC programs, adjust settings, and troubleshoot minor issues as they arise to maintain efficient production. · Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet exact tolerances and quality standards. · Maintain accurate production records, including machine adjustments, material usage, and part quality data. · Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, including lubrication and part replacement, to ensure machines remain in optimal condition. · Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe and clean work environment. LOU-RICH TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: · Applicable training will be completed by following the syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS - Timeclock, IFS - Navigation, ISO) for each new hire and that will be verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment. · Applicable training will be completed by following the CNC Training Matrix (F4400-036). The effectiveness of CNC training guidelines will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on-the-job training will be determined by the Supervisor in preparation to operate on their own as needed. Any follow-up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60-day review or as deemed necessary for the position. Production Machine Operator

Responsibilities • Leads a team and works safely following all related policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment while accepting feedback from others and giving appropriate recognition to others. • Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage. • Set-up of the machine including preparing materials, prints and mounting cylinders. • Use of computer equipment to enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc. • Perform quality checks. • Report irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the team Supervisor and/or Production Manager. • Assists the machine crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine. • Checks raw materials on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented. • Using a ruler, verify dimensions on material to ensure a quality product. • The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. • Troubleshoot machine issues and make recommendations on improving processes. • Keeps work area clean and orderly. • Written and oral communication skills is required. • Other job tasks and projects as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise a small team as assigned. These responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work to be completed. Qualifications • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. • Three (3) years prior experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience leading a small team or group. • Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
