This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s CNC Machine Operator position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider. The CNC Machine Operator proficiently operates a manual lathe & mill, CNC mill, laser welder, end mill, and drill press. Has knowledge of G and M codes. Has strong problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail. CNC Machine Operator will have knowledge and experience with a wide variety of hand tools. In this role you will get to: • Machine Setup: Prepare and set up CNC machines by loading the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials. Ensure the machine is properly calibrated and aligned for precise operation. • CNC Program Use: Modify, or load CNC programs into the machine's control system, specifying the dimensions, shapes, and tolerances required for the specific components. • Material Handling: Load and secure raw materials onto the machine's worktable, ensuring proper positioning and alignment for accurate machining. • Machining Operations: Operate CNC machines to perform milling, turning, drilling, or other machining processes, following the programmed instructions. • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify accuracy and quality. • Tool Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC tools and replace worn or damaged cutting tools to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process, such as tool wear, material irregularities, or machine malfunctions. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating the CNC machines, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations. • Production Monitoring: Monitor the machining process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies. • Documentation: Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts. This also includes daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc. • Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product. • Read and interpret SolidWorks engineering drawings as needed for accurate and safe machine operation. • Maintain and operate hand tools necessary to set-up, take apart and to operate the equipment. • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. • Perform other projects and duties as assigned Job Requirements: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma • 2 years of experience in CNC machine operation, programming, set up, and mechanical ability and aptitude to understand how manufacturing equipment works together in a line to produce high quality products • 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or have general knowledge of metalworking, bending and tooling. • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machine setup, tooling requirements, and part specifications. • Ability to operate both manual and CNC Machines (Manual lathe & Mill, CNC Mill) • Understanding of G code and CNC Programming Basics, experience editing programs is a plus. • Skilled in the use precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques. • Knowledge of different materials and their properties.
