The CNC Machinist II will be responsible for preparing raw materials according to Machine Shop needs as well as operating various machine tools, including but not limited to: band saws, manual lathes, manual mills, grinders and CNC machines, including preventative machine maintenance regarding manufacturing of all products. Further, The CNC Machinist II will be responsible to participate in Research and Development activities for new products, and to lead and participate in Machine Shop and Production activities. JOB DUTIES Essential Job Functions: • Set up and operate Wire and Sinker EDM equipment to shape dies, punches, and other components. • Interpret blueprints, CAD designs, and specifications to determine machining requirements. • Create electrode sinkers using CNC programming and manual milling. • Inspect and measure finished components to ensure they meet quality standards. • Make necessary adjustments to the EDM machine to achieve precise measurements. • Optimize setups to increase throughput and reduce machine idle time. • Set-up, edit programming and operate Wire and Sinker EDM equipment. • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on EDM equipment. • Review and maintain stock levels of all required tooling (drills, inserts, etc.) • Maintain all documentation and follow procedures and specifications. • Assist in testing new products and procedures. • Ability to cross train co-workers in job functions as necessary. • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Research & Development projects • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize the machining process. • Perform all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives. QUALIFICATIONS • Experience - 5+ years of CNC Machine Operation and/or Tooling Experience. • Education -High School Diploma or GED is required. CNC Programming Course, AA or AS degree or equivalent in Machine Shop training is preferred.
