About the Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Lap/Polish Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Prescott, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Lap and Polishing equipment and/or EDM equipment to produce precision aerospace components. Responsibilities: • Understand and operate Lap and Polishing equipment and/or EDM equipment. • Follow and adhere to established Quality procedures • Read and Interpret Aerospace engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions • Setup machines with proper fixtures, and abrasives • Operate precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height stands, optical flats, and indicators. • Monitor Machine Performance and adjust as necessary to maintain process capability • Perform in-process quality checks and document results according to aerospace quality standards (AS9100, etc.) • Maintain Accurate documentation of work performed (travelers, work orders, Inspection logs) • Perform routine maintenance on LAP equipment and assist with troubleshooting when issues arise • Collaborate with engineering, quality and other departments to ensure production goals and quality requirements are met • Accurately clock in and out on work orders. • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety protocols. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs • Must be able to stand for extended periods. • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols. Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-Solving skills • Good Communication and Documentation skills • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to stay on task during required hours. • Must be self-motivated and dependable. • Basic understanding of machining processes and equipment. • Must be comfortable with hands-on, physical work in a manufacturing environment. • Previous CNC machining or Lap/Polish equipment experience. • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and quality requirements.
