The ideal candidate is a self-motivated worker who can set up and operate various machines, including CNC milling machines and turning centers. The right person can perform multiple tasks, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces, using knowledge of machine tool capabilities, material machinability, and shop math. Also includes some sawing, deburring, and sanding. Effective communication skills are essential. Able to plan a sequence of machining operations, select appropriate machines, and produce parts from start to finish while using available machinery to minimize setups and operations. Communicating effectively with various shop departments is necessary. Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences. A solid understanding of machine shop theory is also required. Some prototyping and high-volume machining may be involved. Check parts and verify dimensions. Ensure proper part inspection before starting production. Will train the right candidate who has previous machining experience. Full-time position, Monday – Friday. Duties • Operate CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts according to specifications. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements. • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and to verify part dimensions. • Operate forklifts safely for material handling within the facility.
