Summary: The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computerized numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies while following company policies and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: • Read and interpret machining blueprints • Set up and operate precision equipment needed to manufacture parts using work orders, travelers, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, or drawings • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushing, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices, tramming heads • Loads stock into position • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and same work pieces; use measuring devices like calipers to ensure specifications are met • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes • Maintain safe operations by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs • Use forklift as needed • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities • All other duties assigned Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 1 year of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: • Time Management • Problem Solving Skills • Strong understanding of basic mathematics Ability to: • Read blueprints • Read measuring devices (Tape Measures, etc.) • Work alone with little to no direction • Use proper personal protective equipment Preferred Qualifications: • Technical Certification/Diploma from technical college
