A Machinist will read blueprints, work hand in hand with engineers, team leads and production teams to ensure every product meets the highest quality standards and is delivered on time and to exact specifications. Whether operating manual lathes and or mills, you will program CNC machines turning metal into precision-engineered perfection. Responsibilities • Set-up and Operate Machinery: Execute set-up and safe operations of various machines including Lathes & Milling machines. • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics to determine the dimensions and specifications of parts • Safety: Follow safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and maintaining and organized work environment • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure conformity to specifications • Qualifications: Experience with CNC and manual machine tools is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials. Experience with measuring and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc. • Experience: Previous Mill and Lathe programming and operation required. Columbus Hydraulics is currently looking to fill the position for a CNC Mill and/or Lathe Set-up technician. Position will oversee doing complete set ups on various CNC machines while increasing the efficiency in processes. Ensuring programs and tooling quality are maintained to provide world class hydraulic components with precise measurements. The set-up technician will also make adjustments in tooling or programming during the part run. Columbus Hydraulics is willing to train the right individual that seeks both individual and team growth with some machining background. Job purpose Operation of CNC mills and lathes through writing, editing, and saving programs.
