Machinist-1st shift starting at $27/hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Produce machined parts, products, or components by programming, setting up and operating CNC Vertical milling machine and or manual and conventional machines such as grinders, mills, lathes ,overhead cranes and lifting devices or special purpose equipment as required. • Develops, edits, or modifies programming sequences based on manufacturing blueprints, schematic, manufacturing sketches with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions. • Program and operate machinery for production requirements. • Perform necessary quality checks of parts including the effective use of calipers, micrometers, complex functional gauges and other precision measuring devices. • Communicate with Engineering to resolve any product issues or blueprint dimensional deficiencies . • Create simple and complex patterns and parts using CAD/CAM/eCam/Solidworks Hurco WinMax as well as other programs. • Take immediate action to solve out of tolerance parts, quality issues or other problems by either adjusting the machine yourself as required to ensure quality of production. • Make prototype and sample products as required. • Required knowledge of steels, stresses, and materials • Ability to see and compare slight differences in shape, size, etc., of objects. • Establish optimum path and maximum use of materials and tooling including location of tool set point, starting point and cutter change points and setting or adjusting cutting feeds and speeds. • Verify and edit code generation for accuracy and efficiency; maintain and update code files. • Transform two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional objects for machining with 3D model features. • Transform three-dimensional objects into flat pattern parts for fabrication. • Attend any available training classes and or technical school that may be required. • Maintain and support Maintenance of machines with scheduled checks that may be required by operator to maintain machine life and safe operation. • Maintain safe organized tools and workplace. • Act, live, and behave by TCF Core Values • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred. • 2+ years recent numeric control operations and programming experience preferred. • Ability to determine reference points, machine cutting paths and hole locations and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures. • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. • Proficient in reading and interpreting 3D and 2D models • Practical experience with conventional machining equipment • CAD/CAM programming experience preferred. • Based on department, may be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack. . Description: Operate the CNC machine to produce tanks or other parts according to the work order and blueprint instructions. Principal Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the set up and operation of one or more machines throughout the department. 2. Must learn how to use hand torch, buffers, and grinders. 3.
