Position Overview The Pleat Folder 1 is responsible for folding all finished draperies using a fan fold machine. This role ensures that products are neatly and accurately folded according to quality standards, preparing them for the next stage of processing. What you'll do • Receive finished drapery from the Drapery Inspector • Review the work ticket to determine whether the drapery is a panel or a pair; if a panel, identify if it is a left or right panel • Place finished drapery onto the Hanger Arm of the Fan Fold machine • Align drapery pleats between the Fan Fold fingers for proper folding • Apply paper bands to the hanging drapery • Label the drapery with measurements and side designation (e.g., left/right panel) • Remove the banded drapery from the Fan Fold machine and send it to the Pin & Clip station • If memory stitching is required, ensure correct alignment, apply white clips to the bottom, and send to Memory Stitch • Perform other duties as assigned • Comply with all facility safety rules and regulations • Report any unsafe practices or conditions to your supervisor promptly • Help maintain a safe work environment by addressing unsafe behaviors and encouraging safe practices among coworkers • Notify management of any repeated safety violations by other employees • Properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective or damaged PPE • Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, or illnesses, including musculoskeletal symptoms or disorders • Ensure work tickets with pins are securely fastened to draperies to prevent injury • Exercise caution around inspection machines, which move up and down—stay alert to avoid potential head injuries • Secure long hair, remove long jewelry, and ensure fingernails are no longer than 1" when operating inspection machines • Keep hands clear of air clamps on hang and inspect racks before activating the air switch • Return all tools and equipment to their designated areas at the end of your shift • Request assistance when lifting heavy or lined draperies; never attempt to lift alone if the load is too heavy • Move racks with extra caution due to the tight spacing in the work area, minimizing the risk of injury • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times—perform daily housekeeping during the last 10 minutes of your shift • Dispose of trash in the designated areas for daily pickup • Know your department's Emergency Evacuation Route and be prepared in case of an emergency • Promptly report any unsafe conditions in any area of Carole Fabrics to your supervisor Who you are • High school graduate • Able to use and read a tape measure • General knowledge of fabrics • Ability to use production equipment • Ability to use hand tools • Successfully pass color blind test • Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling • Capable of standing for extended periods of time • Capable of lifting on a continuous basis • Strong attention to details • Follow written and verbal instructions What's in it for you? • Annual base salary range: $13.00 hourly • Generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability • A company culture that prioritizes internal development and professional growth • Time off with pay • 401(k) plan with a degree of employer matching • Paid parental leave • Wellness programs and product discounts Please note, all offers presented to candidates are carefully crafted to ensure market competitiveness, equity, and reflect the individual candidate's education, experience, skills and potential.
