Position Overview Machine Operator is responsible for upholsters cornice board with fabric and cording What you'll do • Adhering to all safety rules, regulations, and policies. • Reporting unsafe practices, conditions, and near misses to supervisors. • Wearing and maintaining proper personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and gloves. • Keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. • Following emergency evacuation procedures and reporting unsafe conditions. • Cutting and upholstering over treatments for various styles (e.g., Statler, Astor, Waldorf, Sheraton, Box). • Padding, covering, gluing, tacking, lining, and trimming boards. • Properly placing and dressing swags, covering legs, and blind tacking returns. • Packaging and recording completed treatments. • Receiving and processing work tickets with coordinating fabric bolts. • Cutting fabric and cord material to specified dimensions and patterns. • Sewing welting and labeling all cut pieces for further fabrication. • Cutting and preparing fabric and lining for swags and panels. • Sewing, turning, pressing, pleating, and banding swags. • Recording information in logs and preparing materials for fabricators. • Maintaining regular attendance and working in a production environment. • Remaining stationary or standing for extended periods (up to seven hours or more per shift). • Operating hand tools, pneumatic staples, and performing repetitive motions. • Lifting or carrying materials as needed. • Wearing closed-toe and closed-heel shoes (tennis shoes preferred). • Using safety glasses that meet ANSI Z87.1+ standards. • Performing other tasks as assigned to support production and safety goals.
