The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize production. Job Duties: Programming: • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). • Read, write and edit programs in G-Code and other CAD/CAM Software based on engineering drawings and specifications • Create and modify programs to improve efficiency, accuracy, and production rates. Machine Setup and Operation: • Set up and operate CNC or manual machines (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders) to produce parts within tolerances. • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and calibration as necessary. • Make appropriate offsets and or speed and feed adjustments to program if necessary to maintain part quality Quality Control: • Inspect and measure finished products using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications. • Maintain accurate records of production runs, inspections, and maintenance activities. • Identify and address any deviations from quality standards. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: • Diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions and tooling issues. • Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
