Job Summary: Focuses on operating computer and/or mechanically controlled machine tools to produce and repair precision metal tools and dies for use in manufacturing. Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for all tool maintenance, tool modifications, design and the manufacture of equipment required to tooling for the site. 2. Required to design and build simple tools and fixtures without drawings if necessary to complete projects Qualifications and Requirements: · Must be knowledgeable about a and able to service, repair and/or replace damaged sections on various types of sheet metal dies, such as hand fed, progressive pierce cutoff and forms dies · Must be familiar with machining properties, such as hardness and heat tolerance, of a wide variety of common metals and alloys · Must be able to work from blueprints or instructions to manufacture tools or dies · Must possess general knowledge of different machines such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, punch press, and other related machine shop machines Minimum Education, Experience & Certification · High school education required · Minimum of 7 plus years manufacturing experience in a tool room environment or completion of Trade School plus 3 years experience Physical Requirements: · Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift · Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally.
