Production Technician - CNC Router Operator (1st Shift)

Thermoforming Operator

After hired on pay will be increased, depending on prior performance, by $2-4/hr! A Thermoformer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining thermoforming machines and auxiliary equipment that shape plastic materials into specified forms using heat, pressure and molds. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the machines, adhering to safety protocols, and meeting production quality standards and cycle times. Duties: • Set up and operate thermoforming machines according to work orders, production schedules and safety guidelines • Monitor machine performance during production runs, adjusting parameters as needed to maintain quality and efficiency • Load raw plastic materials into the thermoforming machines and ensure correct temperature settings are applied per the standard operating procedure (SOP) • Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring that they meet customer specifications and quality standards per the frequency • based on PPI quality program • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs or adjustments when necessary • Clean machines per PPI’s cleaning procedures and utilizing lockout and tagout programs; follow cleaning procedures as specified by the Production/Process Mgr • Record production data, following the daily operator production report, which includes cycle times, material usage, Identify machinery downtime and provide production inventory for that particular cycle time • Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper handling of materials and disposal of waste products • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met, or may not be met • Assist in training and mentoring new operators or junior staff members as needed • Any other tasks assigned by the Production/Process Manager • Assist, as needed, in other areas of the manufacturing plant • manufacturing experience preferred Qualifications/Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in a manufacturing environment is preferred • Previous experience in thermoforming or a related field (The manufacturing role is preferred) • Familiarity with operating and maintaining thermoforming machines and other manufacturing equipment • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50lbsfor extended periods • Ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with heavy machinery and materials for extended periods, with exposure to hazardous substances
